  • First Trip to Kauai & Loved It

"Islander on the Beach was perfectly located to explore all parts of the island. Unit 224 had the ocean view we wanted with unobstructed view of the ocean and being able to hear the ocean waves. Parking was only slightly inconvenient. On a 4 night stay, we had to park in the Coconut Marketplace lot once. While the signs said you would be towed, the property said as long as you have the property parking permit, we were fine. The unit itself was clean and well stocked. The decor was outdated, but was not to the point of being a turnoff. It didn't have a stove for light cooking, but it didn't matter to us since we were out from early morning to late at night enjoying the food throughout the island. If you want to cook your own meals, you are limited to a toaster oven and I think a microwave. Visiting in July was quite warm and the AC unit didn't seem to work well unless you stood right in front of it. This wasn't a big deal since we only stayed in the unit to sleep. Our only real complaint is the bed. It squeaks loudly and we woke up stiff each morning. If a bed is high quality for a good sleep, any other deficiencies are easily overlooked. This includes high quality sheets and a modern white or solid light color bed duvet cover. Just a little advice to the owner. The beach at the property was beautiful. Sunrise each morning is priceless. The sand was deep and coarse, and the waves were quite strong. This was fine for my wife and I, but may not be the best for young children. Walking a little farther down the beach, there was a nice area for the whole family. There was a nice pool side bar, pool and shower. Having an ABC store next door at the Coconut Marketplace was very convenient. Longs Drug Store, Safeway, and even Starbucks was just a few blocks away. If you want a delicious oceanfront meal, go to Dukes next to the Marriott Resort. Its a few miles away south of the airport and worth the experience. We had the Seared Ahi and Monchong Fish dinner for one of the best overall dining experiences we've had in a long time. The price of the unit was affordable and fair for an island central location and oceanfront view. We would return in a heartbeat if the unit gets a new bed. This is the only thing that prevents us from returning. If you need a 3-4 star hotel quality decor and features, this may not be the place, but if you are fine with a cozy, clean and budget friendly place to stay while visiting Kauai, we highly recommend it."

  • Marvelous Experience

"This place is very, very nice. It's obvious that the owner cares about keeping the place in tip top shape. We couldn't have been more pleased with the location, the layout and the way the place was furnished. All the utensils we needed were there and there were boogie boards, fins, masks and snorkels.. There were even spices so we didn't have to buy any. Prior to arriving, the owner was very accessible and made sure we were prepared when we arrived. You'll be glad you stayed in this beautiful, centrally located condo."

  • Perfect vacation getaway

"We arrived to our beautiful home away from home for our 7 night stay at Lae Nani and were blown away . It is excatly what you see in the pictures . It's easy to get into through the private gate . And the room is close enough to the parking area and the pool and beach . We loved eating on the lanai and enjoying the sounds of the ocean . With a beautiful view of the pool also . On our 2nd day there we even saw a seal on the beach directly in front of the property . The condo has all the amenities you could possibly think of . The only thing we had to do was buy our food for the week . It was also nice for our girls to watch Netflix or satellite tv when we had down time . Kapaa is the perfect place to stay it seemed to be not to far from the north shore and the south shore . Our 2 daughters were very sad to leave . It was also easy to be able to get ahold of the owners whenever we had a question . They were very hospitable . I highly recommend this location for couples or families ."

  • Beautiful view, fully equipped, updated home

"As travelers with two young children, we appreciated all of the extra amenities available for kids. There was a pack and play, highchair, stroller, beach toys, and books. You wouldn't know that this house was kid friendly in the design or the beautiful furnishings, so if you are traveling without kids, do not be turned away. The views are stunning and the Lae Nani is a perfect getaway."
