  • Fantastic place despite some issues

"When we walked in, first impression was wow, very nice house. We went in further and opened the blinds to see double sliding porch doors looking over the pool and out to the ocean...incredible sunrises were enjoyed with our morning coffee from there. The master bed room with jacuzzi tub was also great. Location also worked out for us, about halfway between all the activities we had planned. Over all, the house was terrific.... however, here were some issues we had. There was some electrical work being done at the property and we had no power for part of a day ( I understand upgrades need done, but don't like it when I'm paying to be staying). Also had some cleaning issues when we arrived, sand on the couch, sand in the hot tub(he had to drain and refill. We only used 1 time and it had some sand in it again, but we had not even been around the beach yet. May have been a filter issue?) a film in the bathtub where it had not been cleaned etc. I got in touch pretty quickly with the local contact and she was very apologetic and had someone there in less than an hour. He worked real hard getting things in shape for us and while I'm sure we wasn't happy having to come out and fix someone else's poor work, we couldn't notice as he was also very apologetic and very hospitable. Finally, I know you can't control the damn chickens crowing, but you CAN control the fountain that is right next to the bedroom window. It was not on at all when we arrived, but the day the electrical work was done it was running all night long. My wife went and slept in another bedroom. I'm sure a timer needed reset someplace. Despite what may look to be complaints, I feel they are pretty minor. My wife and I had a wonderful time on Kauai and at Moana Kai. We would 100% definitely stay here again, and hopefully will be able too.."

  • Great views and convenient location

"This is a beautiful place - we stayed for six nights (two couples). The kitchen looks very new and modern and all was exceptionally clean (the fridge door looks shocking - old with rust marks - but inside seems fine). You can see the waves rolling in and palm trees from the front lanei. A few minutes walk to the paved path to Lydgate Beach Park and Wailua. We enjoyed the feeling of relative privacy compared with the resorts along the south coast. It was a real bonus to have the washer/dryer and towels. Kauai seemed small to us after a week on the Big Island, so everything was very do-able from this location: we went to the North Shore and Na Pali coast, the South Shore, sea tour from Port Allen, Waimea Canyon... Wailua and Kapa'a are very close: this is great if you want to book a kayak trip up the Wailua River. It's a pleasant walk along the ocean (and footbridge next to road bridge) to Wailua - we went to the Lava Lava Beach Club one evening for cocktails all round and no designated driver!"

  • Great location, Nice room

"Great location in Kappa, next to coconut market place. Nice clean room with partial sea view, beds were comfortable, there is also a swimming pool and hot pool on property. And there is ample parking. All in all we had a great stay. Hope to visit again soon."

  • Location is the reason for 5 stars

"The decision to stay in this home was a good one. The location is incredible. The views from the windows and deck are what you imagine when you think about staying in Hawaii. Even though there are other homes along this beach we rarely ever saw anyone else. At most we would see one or two people on the beach at any given time. The location on the island is great. It is just about 10 minutes past Kapaa. It is about 20 minutes from Princeville. Hanalei is another 15 or so past that. Getting to Poipu is about a 45 min ride but well worth it. The home is very well equipped. I think I counted 4 beach chairs, 6 to 7 beach towels, 2 kayaks, 6 or so pairs of water shoes (very much needed), at least 8 or 9 masks and snorkels, 3 to 4 pairs of fins, noodles, floats, beach toys for kids, fishing pole, sunsreen and much more. There is a shower as you come up from the beach. The beach is a little rocky as stated in other reviews but there is plenty of sand for your lounging pleasure. There is a little area to the left as you come down the path that looks like a little Queen's Bath. The house is very livable. It certainly has a little age and wear and tear on it but that in no way affected our stay. Nice big frig but no ice maker just ice trays. The kitchen is well equipped. It has Keurig, blender, toaster, micro, etc. Plenty of plates, bowls (large and small), and utensils. The is a master bedroom on each end of the house. Both have queen beds. There is a bedroom with twins that has a private bath as well. The window between the mirrors over the vanity is a nice touch. The fairly new washer/dryer got plenty of use. When we first looked at this home online it looked like one of those that had the sliding doors that opened up all the way across the living area. It is not. There is a set of sliding doors off the kitchen and master bedrooms. The rest of the glass on the living area is fixed. Each room had its own AC unit. They were a little noisy but did the job. The temperature when we were there was around 85 degrees during the day. TV in the living room had a little picture issue but we didn't watch that much TV. There is patio table with 4 chairs, 2 lounge chairs, and a gas grill on the deck. Be sure and check out Princeville Ranch Adventures for Zip Lining. Awesome time. Monicos Taqueria in Kapaa was great. Got groceries at Foodland on the way in. Be sure and get some Poke. Go see Spouting Horn. General Store 5 minutes from house to the left. Enjoy the beauty!!!!"
