  • Best VRBO Ever!

"We've stayed at VRBOs on Oahu, the Big Island and in San Francisco. All were nice BUT this was the BEST in terms of location ... paradise right on the water, good snorkeling ... steps from our cottage and appointments ... simply elegant. Equally important ... there were more than enough towels to keep me happy! The owners were on site when we were there. They were attentive to details, welcoming and extremely gracious. Our liaison, Susan, was always responsive and eager to make the experience as close to perfect as it could be."

  • Beautiful Home!!!

"I cannot say enough about this wonderful home! It was THE best vacation home we've ever stayed in. We had family from 65 yrs old down to 9 yrs old and it was perfect for every age! The location is far away from the crowds but so worth the extra drive because the location is gorgeous!! It's right on the beach! The house itself was very clean & well stocked. Only a couple of issues like Wi-Fi not working very well but being so far from town that was understandable. Also the freezer never made any ice and leaked. Other than that, the house was perfect! There was no A/C but each room had little A/C units and fans which was a wonderful added touch. The beach is very private but with a strong current & waves, we had to walk about 15-20 min down the beach to Tunnels for calmer water. But for digging or just watching the water or the sunset, it was a perfect location! We can not wait to go back!!! I can't recommend this property enough! Thank you Leila for sharing your very well taken care of home with our family."

  • Perfect get away on the north end

"We loved our honeymoon stay at the Love Shack. Great view - sunrise in bed? Yes PLEASE. Claw foot tub was great. This is a cabin, not a luxury home, and since it's near the beach and salt water, it will look a little more "worn in" than the pictures suggest. It was clean, comfortable, and fresh. Loved having such large windows out on the beach. The air blew in the slats and into the house and kept us very cool. Kitchen has everything you need to cook. The property manager was onsite when we arrived and very friendly. They keep the place well manicured outside. Love, love, love it. Hawaii is always pricier than the mainland so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about with regard to restaurant prices being too high - we expected it. Loved our coffee every morning in town and trying out the nice restaurants (wide range of price ranges). Hanalei Coffee Company and Bar Acuda were fantastic. Wish the weather had cooperated more for snorkeling but that's just the time of year that we went and a great excuse to come back. We WILL be back. Ditto to the comments about leaving the Love Shack and going to another condo - we left and went to a nearby resort. While a resort has it's advantages, we definitely missed having our own home to stay in with incredible views and the chance to explore."

  • Magical Week in Paradise

"We had an extended family group of 14 people stay here through the week of July 4th, and everyone went away wanting more. Both the main house and the tree house were well appointed with all the amenities to feel at home. We did most of our cooking in the main house and the bbq below. There were plenty of pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, etc. to cook and serve a meal for all of us, with plenty of space to sit and enjoy the awesome beauty that surrounded us. The best thing about the main house was all the outdoor living space. The North Shore of Kauai is magical and this property with its view of the bali hai mountains and close proximity to some of the greatest beaches on the planet made all the difference in our family vacation."
