  • One of the best Vacations we ever had!

"We are a young couple from New York City who needed a romantic getaway. Our review is based on the house for 2 people. Booking: We booked on VRBO. Alexandra contacted us immediately with instructions and offered any assistance. Julie also contacted us and offered to help with anything we needed. Arrival: We came in the middle of the night and after renting a car (Jeep Wrangler 4 door- $75 per day) we stopped at a safeway and cvs which was a few minutes away from airport. Did a full shopping of food, water, liquor etc. The drive to the house was about an hour or so, it was our first time in Kauai so we were driving relatively slow. It was pitch black and we could not see anything, lots of winding roads and bridges that are 1 lane for 2 way traffic. The address does not show up on google maps so it was a little adventure finding the house when its pitch black outside, go to this mile marker, look for fire hydrant and then make right at the bamboo fence. It worked out fine, the instructions winded up being perfect. House: We got to the house about 2am. Our initial reaction was, pretty nice house, as advertised. Pictures were accurate. We were exhausted and pretty much passed out immediately. When we woke up the next morning our opinion went from pretty nice house to wow, this is the PERFECT house. The views are breathtaking, you have complete privacy. The bathroom was very nice, everything was clean. There is an energy that radiates from the house, its calming, peaceful and special. Driving around in the Jeep with the roof removed was fun and a pleasant change from driving in New york city. There are barely any radio stations on the island, i would recommend bringing some cd's with you. Activities: We did kayaking- $50 - Very fun Helicopter Ride with landing at waterfall - $700 for 2 people- Amazing views but not a smooth ride. Skip if you dont have a strong stomach. The beach here is nothing like miami or carribean, the ocean has personality. The waves are intense. Everyday we went to the beach "Tunnels" (3 min from house), there were "No swimming" signs. Didn't stop us but it was quite an experience. Overall the house is amazing, Kauai is amazing and we could not have asked for a better trip. We will definitely be back to Kauai and we would definitely book this house again and thats pretty much the best compliment you could ever give."

  • Ka Wai

"We are back home after an enjoyable 9 days at Ka Wai Aloha on Kauai's beautiful North Shore. Kauai is always great for us. The beach is an easy walk from the house. However the house in need of some repairs: many of the screens need repair allowing mosquitoes to come in or not allowing you to open the window. The top of the dishwasher is broken and falls off its track when pulled out 2 of the showers are leaking under the house when they are running the refrigerator freezes on the top shelf and the freezer keeps ice cream continually soft. Adjusting the temperature was not possible with the control panel. many of the sliding doors are not able to lock one of the bed frames is broken most beds are not comfortable except the master The road noise is a pretty tough sell but it finally calms down in the evening. The location to the beach is great. I sound like a whiner but actually we had a great time. The kitchen is well appointed and there were lots of towels. When I called Kisha, our representative, to express my concern about the broken bed on Sunday, she called me back within and hour and was very nice. Thanks you for all the work you do on these houses. I am sure you don't know these issues exist unless someone tells you Mahalo for reading my email"

  • Perfect Vacation Home in Paradise

"I can't express how much we enjoyed staying at Hale Aloha! Since the house was unavailable for the first two weeks in July, we rented a house in Hanalei. I've only stayed in Haena for the past 35 years so it was a good chance to see how we liked staying in Hanalei. The answer is, we didn't! It was crowded and very noisy with many of the surrounding houses doing construction of one kind or another. I'm not exaggerating when I say we shed all of our stress the moment we arrived in Haena and Hale Aloha. The adults rejuvenated and the kids thrived for the next two weeks in this beautiful home and idyllic setting. It was another magical stay for us!! We can't wait to return next year and stay for four weeks!"

  • Perfectly Kauai

"I almost hesitate to write this review because we hope to have the ocean view cottage available for our return in July! But, for anyone looking for a real Kauai experience, look no further. The location is perfect, the cottage is comfortable and the view can't be beat. Haena is heaven on earth and staying in Auntie's cottage made our experience even more memorable. Mahalo!"
