  • Relaxing property

"We had a wonderful time in Kauai staying here. Plenty of room, basically on the beach, could hear the surf. Very nicely updated. All in all made our stay."

  • Beautiful house filled with Aloha

"This has by far been my favorite rental. Hale Haena sits on my favorite part of the island, the north shore. It's views of the ocean and mountains are majestic and breath taking. Just a short bike ride away is tunnels beach and haena state park, by far the most beautiful and perfect beaches on kauai. The house is welcoming and pristine. You can tell the owner takes great pride in this house as anyone should who steps foot in the door. Other reviewers stated signs were rude and too much, but I found them a great reminder to treat your house the way you would treat your own. If this house is an investment or retirement home for the owners, I would want it maintained and respected by guests. Many renters tend to forget this. Mahalo for the great memories. I would 100% recommend this house and I look forward to staying here in the future."

  • Perfect get away on the north end

"We loved our honeymoon stay at the Love Shack. Great view - sunrise in bed? Yes PLEASE. Claw foot tub was great. This is a cabin, not a luxury home, and since it's near the beach and salt water, it will look a little more "worn in" than the pictures suggest. It was clean, comfortable, and fresh. Loved having such large windows out on the beach. The air blew in the slats and into the house and kept us very cool. Kitchen has everything you need to cook. The property manager was onsite when we arrived and very friendly. They keep the place well manicured outside. Love, love, love it. Hawaii is always pricier than the mainland so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about with regard to restaurant prices being too high - we expected it. Loved our coffee every morning in town and trying out the nice restaurants (wide range of price ranges). Hanalei Coffee Company and Bar Acuda were fantastic. Wish the weather had cooperated more for snorkeling but that's just the time of year that we went and a great excuse to come back. We WILL be back. Ditto to the comments about leaving the Love Shack and going to another condo - we left and went to a nearby resort. While a resort has it's advantages, we definitely missed having our own home to stay in with incredible views and the chance to explore."

  • Magical Week in Paradise

"We had an extended family group of 14 people stay here through the week of July 4th, and everyone went away wanting more. Both the main house and the tree house were well appointed with all the amenities to feel at home. We did most of our cooking in the main house and the bbq below. There were plenty of pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, etc. to cook and serve a meal for all of us, with plenty of space to sit and enjoy the awesome beauty that surrounded us. The best thing about the main house was all the outdoor living space. The North Shore of Kauai is magical and this property with its view of the bali hai mountains and close proximity to the some of the greatest beaches on the planet made all the difference in our family vacation."
