  • Perfectly Kauai

"I almost hesitate to write this review because we hope to have the ocean view cottage available for our return in July! But, for anyone looking for a real Kauai experience, look no further. The location is perfect, the cottage is comfortable and the view can't be beat. Haena is heaven on earth and staying in Auntie's cottage made our experience even more memorable. Mahalo!"

  • Perfect Vacation Home in Paradise

"I can't express how much we enjoyed staying at Hale Aloha! Since the house was unavailable for the first two weeks in July, we rented a house in Hanalei. I've only stayed in Haena for the past 35 years so it was a good chance to see how we liked staying in Hanalei. The answer is, we didn't! It was crowded and very noisy with many of the surrounding houses doing construction of one kind or another. I'm not exaggerating when I say we shed all of our stress the moment we arrived in Haena and Hale Aloha. The adults rejuvenated and the kids thrived for the next two weeks in this beautiful home and idyllic setting. It was another magical stay for us!! We can't wait to return next year and stay for four weeks!"

  • Wonderful Tropical Getaway

"From the moment we walked onto the property, we knew this was a special place. A short walk from the beach, tucked behind some local greenery, this spot is perfect for any one looking to have some peace and quiet in paradise. The furnishings and design of the rooms made the overall essence feel warm, welcoming, and as though you were at home. The beds are comfortable, the shower fabulous, and the plethora of cooking supplies a real treat. And to think not yet mentioned is the covered deck where we ate breakfast every morning, or the outdoor supplies available: snorkel fins masks, towels, boogie boards (which are great for Hanalei Bay, a short ways away!). Looking for a splendid house on the North Shore for you vacation? Look no further, this place is for you!"

  • Perfection...

"We were in town for a wedding and wanted to experience a more authentic Kauai experience than spending the week confined in the St. Regis. The Hale Makai Cottages fit the bill perfectly. The property is steps from the beach (we walked along the beach to Tunnels one morning) and very well kept. The house was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything you'd need. We ended up cooking dinner all 3 nights, there are some great farmer's markets nearby, and found the kitchen well equipped with all the pots, pans and cutlery required for meal prep. There was even a BBQ right off the back of our unit which we made use of one night! The property is pretty far down the Kuhio Highway (about a 20 minutes drive outside of Hanalei Bay) which means it's paradise for anyone looking for a quiet getaway. We'll definitely be coming back a highly recommend to anyone looking for a similar experience."
