  • The most idyllic natural setting – an absolute gem in the hidden heart of Kauai's North Shore

"We absolutely loved our stay at the Red Ginger Hale on Kauai’s North Shore. It really is one of the most spectacular settings we have come across on our travels. The property is a stunning oasis buried in the rainforest. The surrounds are endlessly green with a sleepy atmosphere and the unit itself is retreat-like with comfortable furnishings, soft day beds, an expansive dining space and large windows throughout that face the beautiful greenery and nearby mountains. We honestly could have spent all four days just enjoying the serenity of the space. Just a note that the road to Red Ginger is a dirt road, full of potholes. We found it to be a fun and adventurous drive, but it was a challenge in our small economy-sized rental car. A Jeep or 4WD would handle the terrain far better. This really is a dream location and we would return tomorrow if we could!"

  • Restful Whispers of Hawaiian Breezes in the Jungle

"Aloha! My husband and I miss this cozy little refuge in the jungle! We returned home just a few short days ago from spending eight nights in this restful hideaway as we celebrated our 30th anniversary. We want to go back! The wonderful hosts live next door and have thought of everything you might need to make yourself at home. It was a great little kitchen for cooking our own meals, and the bed is most comfortable. The private outdoor shower is the best! Keeping all the windows opened all day and all night allowed the wonderful breezes to keep us cool, and we loved the musical pitter-patter of the occasional jungle rain on the roof. Sometimes we stayed nearly all day in this little spot, and other days we visited other parts of the island. We decided we love this northern area of the island the very best. And, we couldn't have gotten a better little cottage in which to stay! Mahalo, Cherrill and Jim!!"

  • serene and comfortable

"We stayed in this property in October. We really needed to get away from it all and this property delivered. House was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We appreciate all the extra touches the owners provided, beach chairs and umbrella, cooler, wifi for staying in touch with reality when necessary, BBQ with spare gas tank, comfortable bed and pillows, games, books, the list goes on. Just pack your swimsuit, sunscreen, and slippers, you will be set for a quiet restorative getaway. The beautiful natural beach is about a 5 minute walk, just around the corner, so if you've stocked up on groceries, there is no need to drive again until you leave for the airport...perfect!"

  • Absolutely perfect.

"The Blacksted's made themselves available for anything we might need, but otherwise left us to complete privacy. The property is clean and beautiful. The view every morning is breath taking. The community is local and alive. We spent 8 days in Hawaii, but the few we spent in this VRBO was our favorite. We cannot wait to go back and stay at this property again."
