  • Anini Beach is beautiful

"Great house just steps from the stunning Anini beach (we even saw sea turtles at the beach across from the house.) While not luxurious, the house is very comfortable and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. Our family of five (2 adults, 3 kids under 12) often ventured by car to the end of Anini beach where there was less wind and the waves were even calmer but both ends of the beach had something to offer. For food and restaurants we drove to Princeville and Hanelei Bay (kids decided JoJo's Hawaiian ice was the best) which is an easy drive. We also explored the other north shore beaches - best snorkeling at Tunnels and Hideaway - but they are a lot more crowded than this part of Anini. We had some rain everyday which is to be expected on Kauai so don't be disappointed if it's not all blue skies. Overall, a wonderful place for a family vacation."

  • Simply beautiful!

"The Blue Anini Villa was perfect for our family. The open concept of the living room, dining room and kitchen allowed everyone to interact with each other while doing their own thing (cooking, eating, watching TV). The enclosed patio with overhead ceiling fans came in handy when the weather was muggy and was the perfect place to end our evening. The home is equipped with everything we needed including those things that we didn't expect but was most appreciative for such as a playpen for my 18 month old granddaughter and a training potty in the bathroom. Everything is updated and the shower in the main bathroom is HUGE. We loved it and will definitely stay there again!"

  • Home away from home on Kauai!

"My wife and I couldn't be happier about our stay in Suzy and Stan's Hale on the North Shore of Kauai. This was our 5th trip to the island so we knew we wanted to stay in the Kilauea and Suzy and Stan's property was absolutely stunning. The home is located down a side road and has a very private, tranquil, country feel. No neighbors in sight from the cottage and nothing like waking up in bed to the view of the mountains in the distance and two horses in the pasture looking down at you waiting for you to feed them a morning apple. The routine of waking up, making coffee, and sitting out on the lanai as Silky and Chamois (their two AMAZING dogs) come to greet you with their favorite toys made us feel more at "home" than any hotel ever could. Suzy and Stan had the perfect balance of being very friendly and helpful without ever making us feel overwhelmed. The cottage was beautiful, comfortable, and quiet (no roosters in the morning!...if you have ever been to Kauai, not having them start their routine at 4AM right outside your window was a blessing!). If it were possible we would absolutely be returning next year to stay on Suzy and Stan's property again...what a perfect trip!"

  • A Classic Cottage Charmer

"Plumeria cottage suited our small family perfectly for a nine day stay. The deep eaves protecting the wraparound porch and the screened lanai create very pleasant and comfortable places to relax in. They are also very functional, protecting our hiking, beach, and snorkeling gear from the frequent rains, as our visit coincided with the weather created by Tropical Storm Darby. The house definitely made our stay extremely pleasant, even on some rainy days. Thank you Plumeria! The furnishings and condition of the house are pretty much exactly as pictured. The walls and floors are made of repurposed redwood wine storage vats..smooth, vintage, and beautiful. There are nice little touches throughout the house, giving it's own unique personality. Keep in mind that this house is older home in a tropical climate, well-maintained but with some infrastructure, furnishings and linens functional but well-used. The house was well-stocked when we arrived. We appreciated the warm and attentive hosts who came by to welcome us and bring a gift of fresh fruit, and show us how to use the fruit picker to get our own papayas off the tree in the yard. They were very responsive to a minor fix of an aging smoke detector starting to chirp. Some maintenance attention to the screens around the screened lanai will be needed within a year or so to keep the integrity of this essential bug-barrier high. We had no issues with mosquitos in the house, but we took care to keep the unscreened French doors closed. The house cools off well with the ceiling fans and the doors and windows with screens open. During low-mosquito periods of the day, the hammock and chairs on the wraparound porch are great places to enjoy the view of the palm tree-lined stream that flows next to house. We appreciated the use of the two double kayaks under the house. The house is a short portage to the double-reef protected Anini bay, a magical place to explore. Two strong adults can walk the kayaks to the beach access alleys, but it would be a big help if there was a set of wheels/wheelbarrow to make this more accessible to all without the need to hoist them up onto a car. A wish for our next visit here someday!"
