  • Perfect Honeymoon HOME!

"We absolutely loved staying in the bungalow for our honeymoon! The house itself was incredibly spacious (even bigger than the pictures show) with 2 bathrooms and plenty of space to relax. The king-size bed was dreamy and we both slept incredibly well. I loved reading on the lounge chair in the bedroom... super cozy! The lanai was great and I only wish we would have spent more time out there. The lush greenery give you quite a bit of privacy even though there is a sidewalk/path right there. It's a great place to sit and listen to the birds, enjoy the breeze and a beer! Everything was very clean and in great condition. The owners provide a very thorough guide of everything in the house so we never had any lingering questions! We came home one day to find a notice on the door about some preventative bug-control that was to be done the next day. I texted Jeff and heard back from him very quickly. We did not experience any inconvenience from the maintenance being done. We loved having a full kitchen and cooked a lot of our food at home. We picked up staples at the Safeway in Kapaa, and then did most of our later shopping in and around Princeville. The grocery stores are generally more expensive than on the mainland, but if you focus on buying local products you'll find great deals! The Hanelie Farmer's Market had delicious fruits and veggies, the Dolphin fish market had great seafood and poke, and the fruit stand in Kilauea had good fruit and avocados. Our favorite plate lunch was in Koloa town on the southside of the island, and our favorite poke was from the Kilauea fish market. The house is in a great location! We walked to the Princeville marketplace a few times, both for dinner/drinks at Tiki-Iniki (bartender Jay is a neighbor!!) and to pick up items at the market. We also walked to the Queens bath on our last evening. It was amazing. Be sure to look up the low-tide time and wear your walking shoes/sneakers. We wore our slippers and then went barefoot across the rocks and it was a bit painful. I also suggest walking to the Westin pool bar for an afternoon mai-tai! It may not be the most amazing scenery, but the drinks were good, they offer happy-hour deals and if you like sports, they usually have two different games/matches on. Just down the road into princeville is the Happy Talk Lounge and the Hanalei Bay Resort. It was great!! I've run out of room... but I could go on! Would definitely (and hope to) revisit this HomeAway!!"

  • Perfect Getaway

"This condo was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Perfect view of the ocean and so close to shops and restaurants, that you could easily walk! Great bike rental right next door and right in the middle of the island, so going north or south was easy. The resort was kept up really well and had all sorts of fun things to do on sight. Well kept pool and hot tub. The condo had extra beach chairs, sunbathing mats, umbrellas and beach towels and all of our interactions with Dawn were wonderful! Thank you so much for such a wonderful place! We WILL be back again!"

  • Best spot in four years coming to Kauai

"Janet and I are regular visitors to Kauai. We book cottages and spend our time hiking, cooking, diving, beach combing and exploring. Our requirements are, privacy, cleanliness, full amenities, close proximity to a beach, a host who knows how to be hospitable and a central location to North and East shores. Gilligan's cottage is the first one we would come back to. Everything we wanted plus fresh fruit right in the backyard, the first dishwasher we have had, solid WiFi, plenty of space to cook our meals, granite countertops, and a well maintained property. We know "top of its class" and Gilligan's Cottage is it. Book it!"

  • Serenity on the North Shore

"My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the solace of the Coconut Hut. It was in an easy to find secluded location among the coconuts and roosters minutes from the uncrowded and idyllic Anini beach. We found all in perfect order. After a day of surfing or hiking, it was too easy to stop at the nearby Foodland and buy some tuna and steak, come home to a welcoming hot tub, then drink wine and grill under the stars. It did not lack for anything in our eyes. Moreover, it was an easy drive to all of the attractions of the North Shore. We would definitely return."
