  • Spectacular mountain view, well stocked

"Loved the location, a short walk to magical "Hideaways" beach which is great for swimming and snorkeling. Quiet, peaceful. Step outside your front door to watch the sun set over the ocean (in the summer only). Stargazing any time it's clear. Rain is frequent in Kauai; be prepared. Do the Napali hike (first two miles) but bring Keens or similar "river" sandals as hiking on this island is MUDDY. House had everything, even a ukelele and discount cards for the local grocery store (Foodland in Princeville). Best stocked VRBO we've ever stayed in. Delighted to find a rice cooker, electric skillet, blender. Beach gear, too. Most unexpected delight: the view from the back patios (upper and lower) is simply spectacular. The golf course is mostly hidden by forest, and the mountains fill the scene. I could've sat there all day. We did have one significant issue and contacted the homeowner, who responded promptly and had it immediately taken care of. Highly recommend this property."

  • Perfect North Shore Vacation Villa

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this modern yet homey treehouse villa on the north shore of Kauai. Lush valley, mountain and ocean views refreshed us every morning. Located in the resort community of Princeville, everything from groceries to restaurants and several beaches are nearby. Jodie and Greg were quick, helpful and friendly in their correspondence. Their beautifully decorated villa has the perfect layout and conveniences for a vacationing couple or small family. It provided us with everything we needed for our wonderful Kauai adventure. It will undoubtedly be the first choice for our next Kauai vacation rental."

  • Repeat visit.

"Great location, excellent room and remodel. The view is spectacular. Convenient to Hanalei and many beaches. It's nice that Princeville has a grocery and other amenities. This was our second stay at Pali Ka Kua. We had only one complaint with the unit, the bed had a vinyl mattress pad and it made us sleep hot and felt uncomfortable. Loved it and we plan to go back."

  • Just as gorgeous as the pictures

"We stayed in the bungalow for a week in December. The little house was just what we needed - spacious, comfortable, attractive. The view from the back porches of the mountains was amazing. From the dining area you can see the ocean completely. We used the kitchen to cook meals from food that we purchased at the nearby "Foodland", such as local fish. We could walk and see surfers and occasional whale spouting off. If you go left, toward the fancy hotel, there is a gorgeous view of Hanalei Bay. We were happy for the washer and dryer: really needed it to wash off the red dirt. Also, there were in the closet beach towels, some beach toys, and even a boogie board, which we used. I have two minor complaints: 1 the house would shake on its pillars when, I guess, someone goes up and down the stairs. That was a little disconcerting. 2 that area is 'so dark' at night and in the middle of a long-stretch of vacation development. Ok, maybe a stupid thing to complain about, but it was practically disorienting for this suburbanite. We finally memorized which was our place by where the fence across the street opened. But, overall, I was delighted with the place. The sofa was comfy, and our son slept on it with a blanket and night breezes blowing in. I miss sitting on the back porch with my coffee and listening to all the different birds, including the occasional rooster crowing. That was really wonderful, and I thank you so much!"
