  • Tremendous Home Base

"Me and my wife stayed here for 4 nights and it's quite the great home base. Stunning views, of course, and a very nice interior equipped with everything you'd need. I call it a home base because that's sort of how the north side of kaua'i works. Whether you're going to hanalei or just walking down to the beach (at the St Regis or hideaway) or checking out all the other options for hiking or ziplining or whatever, it's just a solid place to come back to. Then, when you take a gander at the St Regis prices, it's even that much more attractive. Just as a couple, we thought we got a great value, and if you're going with another couple or family members, this has stellar value written all over it. All the best food is in Halalei, but having the ability to make your own gourmet meal while having that view is probably more attractive than just having a room and constantly paying Hawaii hotel prices on food. Assuming this is available, the thought of staying next door at the St Regis doesn't even cross the mind. Plus, Gary is a joy to work with. This was absolutely painless."

  • Great Owners

"This is our seventh year staying at Puu Poa and our first in #405. Mark is great, very responsive to emails and questions. The owners are aware of the Atrium Leak and are working on it. The kitchen is well equipped. The Master bed and pillows were very comfortable. Constructive feedback: The cleaning of the unit is superficial, that is, items are not moved and when we were vacuuming, we decided after moving one of the tables not to move other items (dead insects discovered); the BBQ is more of a Hibachi; the Lanai needs to have a deep cleaning, and the beach towels need to be replaced, could not remove the sour smell if with downy added to wash. These are minor concerns. My overall rating would be Very Good on the unit. Again, great owners!"

  • Perfect - Exciting - Beautiful

"Our trip has been so exciting! The weather was great and we really enjoyed our vacation. We went to several different beaches, and some of our favorites were: Hanalei Bay, Heana, Hideaways, and Secret. Snorkeling at Hideaways was really fun and playing in the waves at Haena and Hanalei was another highlight if the trip. We enjoyed eating out at Tiki-Iniki, and our favorite treat was "wishing well" shaved ice. The view from the lanai was beautiful. Thank you for sharing your condo with us."

  • Best place we ever rented

"This outstanding property looked like it had been professionally furnished. It was exquisite. The kitchen was a chef's dream come true, the chairs and sofas were of the highest quality, the wall hangings were wonderfully thought out, and to top it off, the MB mattress was heaven. The Puu Poa property is the very last property in Princeville before you get to the end-of-the-road, (and best view in Princeville) St. Regis hotel. As far as we could tell, there was not a better location for a condo inside of Princeville. In fact, we were watching tv one night, looking at local real estate listings. This condo had a neighbor selling theirs in the 1.35 million range. At that price, the weekly rental was a bargain. Behind the property is a very fun and challenging climb to one of the nicest beaches we've ever visited. It's very small and remote, so it felt like we had it to ourselves and a few others. Wear your backup shoes and clothes down the hill. That red mud is nearly impossible to wash off. The unit had very cleverly placed shudders, so we could enjoy cool breezes and hear waves crashing without sun shining in the BR in the morning. Paul has quite the AV setup if you get rained out, or desire nighttime TV. We continued our House of Cards marathon at nights during our stay, utilizing Paul's Netflix account. It appeared that he had other providers (Amazon?) as well. I can't say enough about this unit and Paul's hospitality as well. Paul as well as his unit #304 at Puu Poa made for an absolutely enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this property!"
