  • Spacious town home, good Princeville location

"We enjoyed our stay at Mauna Kai. The photos and descriptions are a good representation of the property. The town home was clean, and everything was in working order. There were plenty of towels, beach equipment and a well-outfitted kitchen. Having the master bedroom in the loft was a bit odd, but it didn't matter as we were traveling with older teens and young adults and we all went to bed and woke around the same time. The property is very close to other units. Fortunately, quiet hours were observed during out stay. We especially enjoyed the lanai and the outdoor pool across the street. The closest beach was down a steep, muddy trail, but there were plenty of other nearby beaches. We loved Queen's Bath, which was definitely worth the hike. We also enjoyed Hanalei restaurants and drinks at the St. Regis in Princeville. I would definitely recommend the Mauna Kai property to a friend."

  • Great for large families

"We loved our stay at Mauna Kai. This place is perfect for people with large families. We were able to spread out but it still had an open floor plan so we could be together. It was clean and well stocked. The kids had a blast snorkeling at Sea Lodge and Anini Beach. We took the trails to both and it was very muddy and steep so just a heads up for those traveling with young children in the winter. Our youngest is two and we had her strapped to our back, we were sliding and crossing fallen logs over water. It was worth it though. Beautiful! We had the beach to ourselves. The grocery store is two minutes away. We went to Hanalei a few times and ate and shopped. We grilled by the pool several nights. Great stay. Thanks!"

  • Great place for a family on Kauai

"We have visited Kauai 4 times now and stayed in a few different places but this house was definitely a favorite and we will surely be back. I stayed here with my husband and our 3 young children, ages 11, 9 and 3 and the house was very kid friendly, especially with the huge pool down the walkway. Our kids were very happy here. We were thankful for all of Tonya's recommendations including a local babysitter, which worked out great. One evening we could not figure out how to get the DVD player to work and the property manager came right over, we felt like they were on top of everything and the property was very well maintained. The landscaping around the house is gorgeous, some of the most beautiful we saw anywhere. My husband who is a painter set up his easel right out side the house and did some fantastic tropical botanical paintings. We love the north shore of Kauai and the Princeville location was ideal for everything that we wanted to do. Thanks for the wonderful stay!"

  • Excellent

"The property was exactly as pictured. It was well kept with all of the amenities my family needed for our vacation, including bikes and snorkeling gear. The house is located about 20 steps from a beautiful pool and a short drive to either Anini Beach or Hanalei Bay. Great location, great price, and excellent customer service. Thank you Mark!"
