  • Great location. Great view. Plenty of room.

"We stayed at Hale Makana with another family (total of 10 people) for 10 nights. The location is great. It is only about 5 minutes from the grocery store, gas, and a few restaurants--all in the same parking lot--in Princeville. It's also only about 10 minutes from Hanalei, which has plenty of restaurants, shops, churches, and activities (including kayaking, hiking, and the beach at Hanalei Bay). The view from the backyard is amazing--Mt. Makana, Queen's Bath, the endless Pacific Ocean, and sunsets. The trail to Queen's Bath is also very close (just a short walk) to this house. The house also had plenty of room for our group of 10 to hang out, visit, play games, and eat meals together."

  • Already Planning the Next Trip!

"We'd fallen in love with Kauai about 10 years ago and try to come back every few years. We've stayed at other communities, and this was our first time at Nihilani. This unit was just perfect for our family vacation. We had 8 people (5 adults, 3 kids) staying in the unit, and it was really perfect for us. There were enough beds (including the pull-out), enough chairs and, most importantly, enough nooks for a little escape when someone needed quiet time. The kids had a great time at the pool, too. The car fit everyone nicely, and was perfect for trips to Hanalei, Tunnels or Lydgate. Jim was very responsive. The on-island manager was a little less so, but the few things I tried to contact her about were minor (because the unit is kept in great shape) and didn't impact our trip. I highly recommend this unit (and have already sent out this link to several friends looking to go to Kauai). Next time we are back, we'll be looking to stay here again. Mahalo, Jim!"

  • Slice of Paradise

"It really is a slice of paradise. The views are spectacular. We watched the sunrise and set several days. The sunrise was absolutely gorgeous. The location was easy to get to and was close to the sites we wanted to see. Evelyn left a list of the beaches and some of the other things to do in the area. This list was good. She even gave some hints on how to get to these places. The bed was comfortable. The condo was well stocked and it was really nice to have laundry facility right there. We did a boat tour of the Napali coast, well worth the early morning outing. We also hiked down the hill to the cave just below the condo. Would love to come stay again!"

  • No Better Choice for Your Money

"Although I don't want this condo booked up when I come back to Kauai, I guess I'll leave an honest review. ;) This condo is excellent and there is no better choice for the money in the Princeville area. Upon walking in for the first time, the first thing your eyes notice is the open floor plan and the spacious lanai. The master bedroom and bathroom is huge and gorgeous. You will immediately start taking pictures and think about ways to recreate it in your home. This is the perfect place for 3 couples, considering each couple will have their own bathroom. Finally, the amenities available in the garage area is icing on the cake. There are plenty of bicycles, beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, etc. If you were to rent all this out individually, it would cost you more than the condo itself. The owner, Doug, is super easy to communicate with and you will put you at ease with any questions you have."
