  • Perfect Beach House in an Idyllic Beach Neighborhood on the North Shore

"Our family spent 2 relaxing weeks at Hale Alealea in Ha'ena. Four adults and two children (ages 10 and 12). Upon arrival we found the house VERY clean and ready for our stay (this was our 4th family trip to Kauai and our first away from Princeville). It was a pleasure to be in such a quiet and lush beach town. We needed to contact the management agency a couple of times for minor items and they were quick to respond and even came by once to assist with a small issue. Location - Hale Alealea is in a quiet (except for the local roosters) beach neighborhood. The dirt road leading to the house has very little traffic except for those staying in homes on the road. We were comfortable allowing our children to roam around the neighborhood and beach with out us. There were heavy rains before and during our stay and the road was full of fairly deep pot holes (literally, every inch of the dirt road). It made for a very slow and bumpy trip to and from Kuhio Hwy. We would have considered an SUV if we knew about the road before our arrival . Evan the property manger commented after visiting us one day that she needed to rest in the driveway after the trip on the dirt road to the house. Fortunately, about one week into the trip, the county came with machinery to grade the road. After two days of grading the road was smooth as pavement. This was not a major issue for us but should be considered if traveling with elderly or those that get motion sick easily. We considered it part of our experience being in an authentic beach town on the north shore. There are two beach easements on either end of the road that leads to Kepuhi beach. Some swimming areas at both ends when the seas are calm. Hale Alealea - The house has four comfortable bedrooms and three bathrooms. Our children loved the outdoor shower after a day at the beach. We spent many evenings on the very large lanai off the kitchen. We used the BBQ on the lanai many times for dinner. The big kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals (which we did every day). The property grounds are full of manicured mature plants. The home also had a full washing machine and dryer on the ground floor just off the driveway. A great convenience. The owners of this property take great care in maintaining this home. The description of the home is 100% accurate. We would stay in Hale Alealea again! Maholo Hale Alealea owners for sharing your Hale Ohana. Aloha"

  • Perfect Hale Beach Home

"This was our first time ever to Hawaii and we picked Kauai and the Hale Beach Home and did we ever make a wonderful decision. The home is beautiful from the clean house to the wonderful sound of the ocean seconds away. Our family of 6 adults stayed there and it was perfect tons of room. I would highly recommend this house to rent."

  • Elegant taste, beautiful place.

"From the Veuve Clicquot on arrival to the Martha Stewart sheets everything in this roomy perfectly furnished home was wonderful. When the construction project next door is finished it will be an entirely peaceful experience, with gorgeous vegetation, well off the road but very near a spectacular and rarely used beach. Just don't try to rent it when we want to come back!"

  • Hale Kilo I'a

"Our family of four stayed at Hale Kilo I'a over the Christmas Holiday. We have used VRBO for more than a decade and this home did not disappoint. It is directly on the beach as advertised. The surroundings are quiet. Being on the beach was obviously the number one selling point. I would venture to say that it is no more than 50 yards from the home to the sand. That is Priceless!!! Hale Kilo I'a is a short drive past Hanalei Bay. It is for the most part next door to a small resort that has a restaurant. The home is well equipped with everything you would need for your stay. All up to date and all functioning. We had zero problems and were never bothered by the manager. The pictures do the home justice. It looks exactly as shown. The water in front is swimmable but in December it was just a little rough. The view was unforgettable. The north shore is the place to be. If you want a lot of commotion and crowds don't stay here. If you want quiet relaxation this is the place for you."
