  • Very beautiful.

"Very pleasant stay. Only one thing there were ants in the kitchen."

  • Ideal location and house for quiet and peace

"The house was beyond perfect. The rooms are large and comfortable, there is plenty of privacy yet feels very cozy at the same time. It also has a fabulous washer and dryer which is necessary when traveling with children! The kitchen is well stocked, the beach is perfect for children and folks looking to snorkel without crowds. The entire week we were there we saw at most six other people on the point. The place is so quiet and the rooster crows only about three times in the morning, after the sunrise. If you are looking for a quiet place, close to Hanalei and the Na Pali trails but away from the crowds, this is ideal. I would recommend this house to couples, or families with children. Even teenagers, as the wifi works throughout the house."

  • Family Friendly Amazing Home

"We had a wonderful family vacation in this beautiful home. It's a gracious home that can comfortably sleep 12 as advertised. Every bedroom has a full bath that is quite lovely. The bedrooms are a distance from the main living spaces which is so helpful with sleeping children! The kitchen and living spaces are all well equipped and we enjoyed cooking in and grilling most nights. The internet worked very well. The view and beach are spectacular with some beautiful tide pools just right up the beach. It's about a 10 minute beach walk to the heart of tunnels beach, which is an excellent area for swimming and snorkeling. The home is a 15 minute drive from the town of Halalei which features great restaurants and has a cute small town feel. It's also about 10 minutes drive from the Napali coast trail which is a beautiful hike our family really enjoyed. We'd return in a heartbeat!"

  • Perfection...

"We were in town for a wedding and wanted to experience a more authentic Kauai experience than spending the week confined in the St. Regis. The Hale Makai Cottages fit the bill perfectly. The property is steps from the beach (we walked along the beach to Tunnels one morning) and very well kept. The house was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything you'd need. We ended up cooking dinner all 3 nights, there are some great farmer's markets nearby, and found the kitchen well equipped with all the pots, pans and cutlery required for meal prep. There was even a BBQ right off the back of our unit which we made use of one night! The property is pretty far down the Kuhio Highway (about a 20 minutes drive outside of Hanalei Bay) which means it's paradise for anyone looking for a quiet getaway. We'll definitely be coming back a highly recommend to anyone looking for a similar experience."
