  • Great location, off the beaten path - yet close to activities.

"We stayed at the bungalow from November 26 to December 3. It was more spacious than we imagined and very well appointed. Jeff & Deb had beach towels, beach chairs and mats available for us to borrow. We loaded them in the jeep so we had them available all week. We always pack a collapseable cooler so we can take water bottles or a snack of fruit with us when we head out for the day... had we known those were available, we could have saved on packing. There are also plenty of dishes, pots and pans, even a gas grill to prepare a meal or two. We loved the binder with the handy tips that they provided with area attractions and places to go. This came in handy when the road closed to hanalei and we couldn't return out snorkel equipment. We were flying out early the following morning and contacted the caretaker, Emma. She was a sweetheart and said she would return it for us no problem. Jeff was also helpful and patient in answering my many questions about the area before our arrival. The chickens were pesky, but they truly are ALL OVER the island. There is just no getting around it. Be prepared to see a gecko or two. They are good luck!! We named one Fred and one Wilma. :) Kauai is a beautiful place and I'm glad we got to experience it in a little bungalow, instead of a high rise resort. This was so cozy and perfect !! Definitely would stay again ! Mahalo for letting us enjoy your home ! Warmest thanks, Tressa & Brian"

  • Beautiful Location!

"My teenage son and I stayed here for 4 nights. The location is incredible. The price was excellent for this location! We were able to walk to the beach every evening before sunset and sit on the quiet beach of Hanalei Bay. The beach is literally a 30 second walk from the unit. Debbie and Lloyd were very kind and accommodating. The unit is clean and comfortable and they have bikes, a barbecue, beach chairs, and beach towels to use during your stay. This island has so much to see, we spent very little time in the unit itself. This isn't the island to stay inside, you have to get out and explore. If you want to explore the North Shore, this is an ideal place to stay. There isn't a/c, and that wasn't a problem. We were able to open the windows and turn on the fans. It was nice and breezy at night. I might have been uncomfortable if we had spent time during the day inside, but again, if that is what you want, stay in a resort somewhere. This is a place to get out all day and explore the beauty of Kauai. We were really tired at night and the only upgrade I would suggest is a better TV. It does rain a lot and at times you want to just relax and maybe watch a movie in the evening. The TV made a lot of cracking sounds when warming up. So, we pretty much left it off all the time. The furniture in the living area is wicker and not all that comfortable for sitting in relaxing. But, again as I said, if you want to stay in, then this isn't the place for you. Also, if they would offer a WiFi guest password that would have also been a nice thing to have. Our cell phone carrier is Sprint and service was very spotty. I would have felt better if I knew I had a connection to back home in the event of emergency at home with my other family members. Also WiFi would have been great, to upload pictures after seeing beautiful Kauai all day long. Thank you again for sharing your lovely place with us. We loved it!!"

  • Beautiful house in beautiful location

"We stayed here end of august 2016. The house was beautiful, roomy and clean. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed to cook. The wrap around porch was a great place to sit out and look at the mountains in the back. The walk to the beach was short and the walk to nearby Tunnels beach was quite convenient. It is close to Hanaeli and is in a quiet area. Jacalyn made sure we were well taken care of while we were here. The house made our stay in Kauai even better than we expected. I have no problems recommending this home for anyone who wants a great place to stay in a beautiful part of the island."

  • Quite comfortable for our family of 7

"Words cannot describe the beauty of this house. The owners thought of everything. We were very grateful for being able to use your chairs, boogie boards, masks and flip flops. Every room was well appointed and extremely comfortable. Having the master bedroom downstairs near the hot tub was wonderful. Quiet area with exception of the neighborhood roosters. I would highly recommend this home to anyone really- no matter how large or small your group is. This home is child friendly. A+++"
