  • Very homey...Felt like our own home...

"The condo was very homey. It felt like our own home. The local residents were friendly including the community cat, Pickles, who came by to see us regularly. We were originally concerned there was no central air but it was not a problem in the month of February in Princeville. There is a cleaning fee but there are things that you do before you leave like running the dishes in the dishwasher and we were asked to throw the bedding in the full-size washer. The prior guest had an issue with the pantry door coming off the track so it took some time and coordination to get the handy man out. The door issue didn't bother us but I hope other repairs would be faster if it was a water issue or something more serious. Overall, great condo on the first floor and decorated well...some wear and tear in the bathtub area. Robert, the owner was easy to connect with and the property manager came by several times."

  • Incredible Vacation Rental! Great Amenities!

"From the initial contact with Jim and subsequent emails since, we were sure that Jim was a great person to deal with and found him very helpful. Our stay was more than comfortable - great King bed in Master, and just as Jim advised, the tradewinds and fans would probably suffice for cooling, and he was absolutely right. We never needed to turn on the AC, and it was never cold outside either! The home has tons of flatware, sharp knives of every kind, enough plates, mugs, thermal coffee mugs even, glasses and plastic cups. We were pleasantly surprised to find a large array of spices available for cooking and a George Foreman grill and rice cooker, even though we didn't use them. It was also handy to have a blender which we did use, as well as dishwasher pucks, dish soap and a starting supply of paper towels and bathroom tissue. What more could you ask for -- well let's see, there were also bicycles, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella and a great assortment of coolers for the beach, which we made good use of. We were able to find great gluten-free eating options as well in Hanalei Bay which is about 4 miles from the house, at Hanalei Bread Company (excellent GF crepes and fresh GF Bread), Fresh Bite Food Truck (beside the liquor store) which had incredible GF pancakes with a pineapple ring in the middle, and the Harvest Market (amazing GF scones and muffins and hot prepared foods). Princeville Ranch is about 5 or 10 minutes from the home and has amazing ziplining - 9 lines! Highly recommend it! The pool area was very nice, although watch the hot tub, it is very, very hot! Excellent vacation rental - no worries whatsoever! We will definitely come back when we can, if it's available! Best holiday memories for a worry-free home rental, close to fantastic areas to visit and vacation rental location. Beautiful Princeville!"

  • GREAT SPOT!

"MY WIFE, CHILD, AND I STAYED AT PLANTATION AT PRINCEVILLE FOR A WEEK THE MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY. THE CONDO WAS MORE THEN WE NEEDED, IN A GOOD WAY! IT WAS VERY CLEAN AND CHECK IN WAS VERY EASY. IN THE GARAGE YOU HAVE THE TOYS YOU'LL NEED. THE COOLER WAS CLUTCH! WE MADE OUR OWN MEALS, LOADED UP FOR THE DAY, AND HEADED OUT. I'D DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN. IT WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN A HOTEL!"

  • Celebrating Year of 80th Birthday and 50th Anniversary

"This is a very beautiful home and met every desire we wanted. We had the home from April 2 to April 10, 2016 to celebrate my 80th birthday and the Year of my wife's and my 50th Anniversary. We were 8 adults and 7 grandchildren and had gone to Kona Village Resort (KVR) since 1975 when our two oldest children were 7 and 4, and revisited KVR many time until the Japanese Tohoku Tsunami destroyed it. This was the 1st return to the Hawaiian Islands since 2011 for our collective family. We wanted to try and re-create our own version of what we liked - and did so here at Hanalei Hono Hale! We arranged with KauaiOno for a chef to come in. They had 4 nights available and we grabbed them. We enjoy all foods so told them that the 1st night we just wanted a "Pupus Themed" dinner as both Big and Little kids would be too excited to sit for a more formal dinner. It was perfect, especially with the wonderfull outside Bar/Gazebo that easily seated 10 and the little kids used the tables adjacent under the balcony when they were not out in the spacious yard. Adam was our Chef and Darron his assistant. We could not have been more pleased with what they provided. From that moment on we said, "just surprise us - we like Fish, Island Pig, etc."We had wonderful dinners with the kitchen left spotless and plenty of leftovers which they packaged and put into the fridge. We only went out 1 night to the Tahiti Nuiu Luau- a short walk from the house - low key, fun and a good example of a luau without "Hollywood". The jacuzzi saw constant action from the kids and was close enough to the outside "Bar" that we could easily oversee them. We cooked steaks and fresh fish out doors. There was no reason to leave such a wonderful site to eat elsewhere. We used paddle boards from the house and rented a few for the more proficient surfers. Walks in the morning and evening on the beach just thru the gate in the hedge in front of us which provided privacy. Only private homes were around us so the beach in front was practically ours alone. The outside Bar is a gem to use and makes this location particularly special - I don't believe any other home on the beach had anything like it. We used it constantly."
