  • Perfect Honeymoon HOME!

"We absolutely loved staying in the bungalow for our honeymoon! The house itself was incredibly spacious (even bigger than the pictures show) with 2 bathrooms and plenty of space to relax. The king-size bed was dreamy and we both slept incredibly well. I loved reading on the lounge chair in the bedroom... super cozy! The lanai was great and I only wish we would have spent more time out there. The lush greenery give you quite a bit of privacy even though there is a sidewalk/path right there. It's a great place to sit and listen to the birds, enjoy the breeze and a beer! Everything was very clean and in great condition. The owners provide a very thorough guide of everything in the house so we never had any lingering questions! We came home one day to find a notice on the door about some preventative bug-control that was to be done the next day. I texted Jeff and heard back from him very quickly. We did not experience any inconvenience from the maintenance being done. We loved having a full kitchen and cooked a lot of our food at home. We picked up staples at the Safeway in Kapaa, and then did most of our later shopping in and around Princeville. The grocery stores are generally more expensive than on the mainland, but if you focus on buying local products you'll find great deals! The Hanelie Farmer's Market had delicious fruits and veggies, the Dolphin fish market had great seafood and poke, and the fruit stand in Kilauea had good fruit and avocados. Our favorite plate lunch was in Koloa town on the southside of the island, and our favorite poke was from the Kilauea fish market. The house is in a great location! We walked to the Princeville marketplace a few times, both for dinner/drinks at Tiki-Iniki (bartender Jay is a neighbor!!) and to pick up items at the market. We also walked to the Queens bath on our last evening. It was amazing. Be sure to look up the low-tide time and wear your walking shoes/sneakers. We wore our slippers and then went barefoot across the rocks and it was a bit painful. I also suggest walking to the Westin pool bar for an afternoon mai-tai! It may not be the most amazing scenery, but the drinks were good, they offer happy-hour deals and if you like sports, they usually have two different games/matches on. Just down the road into princeville is the Happy Talk Lounge and the Hanalei Bay Resort. It was great!! I've run out of room... but I could go on! Would definitely (and hope to) revisit this HomeAway!!"

  • Step out of the jungle into Shangri-La

"Down a twisty road and over a bridge you come to a secluded dwelling. The cottage is rustic and inviting. Inside is very spacious with pristine decorations. As you go from room to room you feel you are in a far away land, like something out of the adventures of Marco Polo. Cheryl was great. She accommodated us a few hours early as we had nowhere to keep our luggage. The place came with all the amenities anyone could want - a full kitchen, giant fridge with an ice maker, a coffee maker, etc. The grounds that the cottage is one are vast and Cheryl invited us to use her pool. But the beach, a nearly empty beach, was just around the corner. Renting a car to get around Kauai is a must. That way you are not missing out on groceries, restaurants, beaches, and hikes. Overall this was an awesome place to stay to explore the North Side of the island!"

  • Family Vacation

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice home, great location with easy access to the beach...only complaint would be you can't park more than 2 cars for this 5 bedroom rental, you're in Hawaii so airflow is important so it would have been nice to have a fan for every bedroom and a few for the living room of the dining room chairs were broken so we didn't have enough seating in doors for meals and just remember to bring soap as one of your toiletries...we didn't know that there were no starter soaps...but it seems like renters leave behind their left over non-perishable food and sunscreen items which was nice to find things like laundry soap and lotion."
