  • Perfect get away on the north end

"We loved our honeymoon stay at the Love Shack. Great view - sunrise in bed? Yes PLEASE. Claw foot tub was great. This is a cabin, not a luxury home, and since it's near the beach and salt water, it will look a little more "worn in" than the pictures suggest. It was clean, comfortable, and fresh. Loved having such large windows out on the beach. The air blew in the slats and into the house and kept us very cool. Kitchen has everything you need to cook. The property manager was onsite when we arrived and very friendly. They keep the place well manicured outside. Love, love, love it. Hawaii is always pricier than the mainland so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about with regard to restaurant prices being too high - we expected it. Loved our coffee every morning in town and trying out the nice restaurants (wide range of price ranges). Hanalei Coffee Company and Bar Acuda were fantastic. Wish the weather had cooperated more for snorkeling but that's just the time of year that we went and a great excuse to come back. We WILL be back. Ditto to the comments about leaving the Love Shack and going to another condo - we left and went to a nearby resort. While a resort has it's advantages, we definitely missed having our own home to stay in with incredible views and the chance to explore."

  • Incredible location, fantastic resort & condo

"This condo at Hanalei Bay Resort was the perfect home base for exploring Kauai. The host is very responsive and ensured I had all the details I needed for my stay. From the moment I pulled up to the valet to check-in through until my check-out, the resort staff was welcoming and helpful. The condo, located on the top floor, has a gorgeous view of the pool and lounge area from the patio. The efficiency kitchen had all amenities needed. The bed was comfortable with the softest sheets ever. The condo is quiet. I enjoyed coffee on the patio each morning, before following a short trail down to a hidden beach (how cool is that?). The pool, lounge, and hot tubs are well-maintained. There are lots of walking trails from the resort around Princeville. The resort restaurant has one of the most incredible views around, with friendly staff and a decent menu. Though I didn't take advantage of them, there are lots of activities available at the resort - yoga, fitness, etc. The Princeville "center" has a grocery store, gas station, and shops and restaurants - and is only a 3-4minute drive from the condo. I couldn't have imagined a better place to stay in order to enjoy Kauai. It's a 10-minute drive from the condo to Hanalei town (lots of great food, small shops, water sport lessons/rentals, etc.). Easy drive to snorkeling beaches along the North Shore and headed back to the east side. It's even an easy day trip to Wailea Canyon State Park (the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific"). But truth be told, the lush north shore is the best place to stay. :) Highly recommend this condo and the Hanalei Bay Resort for anyone who wants a relaxing, all-amenities-included place to stay while enjoying exploring Kauai."

  • Beautiful stay at Pua Poa 412.

"Incredible views from the Lanais- so many rainbows!!! We enjoyed the bbq and well-equipped kitchen. I know we are spoiled, but having air conditioning was amazing! Although it rained quite a bit each day, we had such fun-- Walking distance to the St Regis. The Hideaways Beach was beautiful but extra scary descent with all the rain. But there were plenty of other great beaches to enjoy. RIchard is an amazing host who gave us lots of ideas for places to eat and play. Thanks for a memorable trip- we will be back!"

  • Great Owners

"This is our seventh year staying at Puu Poa and our first in #405. Mark is great, very responsive to emails and questions. The owners are aware of the Atrium Leak and are working on it. The kitchen is well equipped. The Master bed and pillows were very comfortable. Constructive feedback: The cleaning of the unit is superficial, that is, items are not moved and when we were vacuuming, we decided after moving one of the tables not to move other items (dead insects discovered); the BBQ is more of a Hibachi; the Lanai needs to have a deep cleaning, and the beach towels need to be replaced, could not remove the sour smell if with downy added to wash. These are minor concerns. My overall rating would be Very Good on the unit. Again, great owners!"
