  • Perfect Location :)

"You know you're in a good spot when you acquire mysterious "friends" parking in the guest spots to watch the sunset across the street! But once you see it, you won't blame them. Walkable to Hideaway/Secret Beach and Queen's Bath. But sometimes it's difficult to get motivated for a hike when there's a perfect view off the lanai. Don't hold them to it, but since no one came in right after us, and we had a late flight, Joe and Linda accommodated a late check out, which was soooooo nice. Beach towels, coffee filters and basic condiments are provided, which was nice, as was having a washer/dryer. I'd love to be rebooking right now!"

  • Lovely, Relaxing Vacation

"We just spent a wonderful week at this property. This home was comfortable and is located in the most beautiful setting. There are breathtaking views from every room. We loved the quiet and peacefulness of the location. We were a family of six celebrating a special anniversary. It was perfect for us....... We would return again."

  • Beautiful house filled with Aloha

"This has by far been my favorite rental. Hale Haena sits on my favorite part of the island, the north shore. It's views of the ocean and mountains are majestic and breath taking. Just a short bike ride away is tunnels beach and haena state park, by far the most beautiful and perfect beaches on kauai. The house is welcoming and pristine. You can tell the owner takes great pride in this house as anyone should who steps foot in the door. Other reviewers stated signs were rude and too much, but I found them a great reminder to treat your house the way you would treat your own. If this house is an investment or retirement home for the owners, I would want it maintained and respected by guests. Many renters tend to forget this. Mahalo for the great memories. I would 100% recommend this house and I look forward to staying here in the future."

  • Perfection...

"We were in town for a wedding and wanted to experience a more authentic Kauai experience than spending the week confined in the St. Regis. The Hale Makai Cottages fit the bill perfectly. The property is steps from the beach (we walked along the beach to Tunnels one morning) and very well kept. The house was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything you'd need. We ended up cooking dinner all 3 nights, there are some great farmer's markets nearby, and found the kitchen well equipped with all the pots, pans and cutlery required for meal prep. There was even a BBQ right off the back of our unit which we made use of one night! The property is pretty far down the Kuhio Highway (about a 20 minutes drive outside of Hanalei Bay) which means it's paradise for anyone looking for a quiet getaway. We'll definitely be coming back a highly recommend to anyone looking for a similar experience."
