  • Kauai Gem

"If you are staying in the Princeville area of Kauai this is the place to stay. The condo is located on a cliff just above the Pacific. From the living room and dining area the view looks out over the bay where South Pacific was filmed. I would say this condo has one of the best views in the entire development. Sunsets over the bay are also amazing. The bed in the condo is very comfortable and the layout and upkeep of the interior is excellent. The owner is very responsive to questions and very helpful reference anything that might arise. The location of the condo is good for exploring the North Shore of Kauai. Beaches are within walking distance with a private paved path just outside of the condo to the beach. I strongly recommend this condo; we will definitely return."

  • A Classic Cottage Charmer

"Plumeria cottage suited our small family perfectly for a nine day stay. The deep eaves protecting the wraparound porch and the screened lanai create very pleasant and comfortable places to relax in. They are also very functional, protecting our hiking, beach, and snorkeling gear from the frequent rains, as our visit coincided with the weather created by Tropical Storm Darby. The house definitely made our stay extremely pleasant, even on some rainy days. Thank you Plumeria! The furnishings and condition of the house are pretty much exactly as pictured. The walls and floors are made of repurposed redwood wine storage vats..smooth, vintage, and beautiful. There are nice little touches throughout the house, giving it's own unique personality. Keep in mind that this house is older home in a tropical climate, well-maintained but with some infrastructure, furnishings and linens functional but well-used. The house was well-stocked when we arrived. We appreciated the warm and attentive hosts who came by to welcome us and bring a gift of fresh fruit, and show us how to use the fruit picker to get our own papayas off the tree in the yard. They were very responsive to a minor fix of an aging smoke detector starting to chirp. Some maintenance attention to the screens around the screened lanai will be needed within a year or so to keep the integrity of this essential bug-barrier high. We had no issues with mosquitos in the house, but we took care to keep the unscreened French doors closed. The house cools off well with the ceiling fans and the doors and windows with screens open. During low-mosquito periods of the day, the hammock and chairs on the wraparound porch are great places to enjoy the view of the palm tree-lined stream that flows next to house. We appreciated the use of the two double kayaks under the house. The house is a short portage to the double-reef protected Anini bay, a magical place to explore. Two strong adults can walk the kayaks to the beach access alleys, but it would be a big help if there was a set of wheels/wheelbarrow to make this more accessible to all without the need to hoist them up onto a car. A wish for our next visit here someday!"

  • Wonderful Condo, wonderful Kauai vacation

"My husband and I loved our stay at Vince and Catherine's condo at The Cliffs. It was exactly as advertised: beautifully furnished and equipped with everything we needed for a lovely vacation. And the beautiful lawn leading to the gorgeous view of the endless Pacific was stunning. We had beautiful sunrises and sunsets each day and had our morning coffee and evening cocktails sitting on the verge of the Pacific. The Cliffs itself is a full service resort, so we took advantage of the lovely pool and hot tub each evening and the barbecues, grounds, and various resort offerings -- like a welcome reception, wine tasting, and visiting island craftspeople selling their wares. Vince was extremely helpful in giving us precise instructions to get to the best snorkeling and swimming beaches on the North Shore -- without those directions, we would not have found the beautiful beaches at Hideaways, Tunnels, Anini and more. We loved dining at the Dolphin and enjoyed the music at Tahiti Nui (we met Michael Keale, a local Hawaiian singer, on our flight.) Also, Vince's recommendation for the Na Pali coast boat tour was right on. We had to wait until the last day because of rough seas, but when we finally went on the tour, it was the highlight of our vacation: gorgeous cliffs, incredible sea life (spinner dolphins, turtles, fish), great snorkeling, and the wet and wild ride of a lifetime -- into beautiful sea caves and rocking and rolling on the ocean swells. Thank you for all your recommendations! We will definitely stay here again on our next to trip to amazingly beautiful Kauai!"

  • We really enjoyed the accommodation

"The accommodation had plenty of space for us. Everything we needed was provided including inflatable kayaks for a morning river trip. The location was great for any activities we wanted to do and it was delightful being able to pick fresh fruit from the fruit trees every day. We appreciated being able to come back after a day's adventures to a place where there were not many people. Highly recommended for a simple getaway."
