  • Great location, well equipped condo

"We had stayed in Poipu at the condos across the road last time we were here. Due to the value of the Canadian dollar, this condo fell into our price range. Since we loved the location with its proximity to a great snorkelling beach, we picked this condo. We were absolutely delighted with our choice. You can still see and hear the ocean. There is no a/c, but you don't need it. The breeze blows quite strongly and kept the place comfortable. Combined with one of the quietest ceiling fans we've ever had, we were able to sleep well with the sound of the waves. The kitchen is very well equipped...lots of pots, dishes, cutlery. Nicely updated. There are spices available for use. There is lots of storage in the bedroom and bathroom. It's nicely decorated, with a tropical feel. There are beach chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards, and a cooler. Really didn't miss anything. The only problem we had was with the shower...it was a conundrum to us to get going. There is a BBQ area and a nice pool, which the complex across the road didn't have. We much preferred this one. There is a restaurant across the road, but it is pricey. There is also a snorkel rental place there. You can walk to the blowhole, about 1/2 hour each way. The shopping mall, with more restaurants and a Wednesday farmers market is about a 15 minute walk. We really felt at home here. I don't believe there is an elevator, this condo was on the 3rd floor, so you need to be able to do stairs."

  • Very Comfortable - Great Location

"This is our third time staying at the Poipu Kapili and second time in Unit #12 (the first time in 2013). This condo is now managed by an off-site company; this company is very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. As for the condo itself, it's very bright, has two lanais, the beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is large and well stocked. The bathroom amenities are lovely and the towels are plush. The condo was very very clean upon our arrival. There are a lot of beach items available for guest use - boogie boards, chairs, a cooler and bug repellent. There are few other things to consider - the suite is a bit more worn as one would expect after three years. The wiring is very strange. The light in the second bedroom was turned on one morning and our bedroom light came on a well - not welcomed in the early morning! The lights under the kitchen cabinets flickered mercilessly and we were unable to use them. There's a wear hole in a couch cushion, and the washer and dryer are rusted somewhat along the bottoms on the outside. The grounds of the Poipu Kapili are beautiful and well maintained. The pool area is kept very clean. I think for the money one pays for this suite, we'd be inclined to look elsewhere for our next stay - but we'd certainly recommend it. Oh - it's walking distance from the two near-by shopping areas! Mahalo for the hospitality."

  • Absolutely exceeds expectations

"We have stayed at many VRBO properties in various states. When looking for a place in Kauai, we discovered this property and were impressed with all the 5 star ratings and great comments. We expected to find a beautiful home and relaxing place to stay. After all, who wouldn't love having coffee every morning on the 3rd hole of a golf course. When we walked in the house, all we could say was - WOW!! We were extremely impressed. This was all we could have hoped for and more. We were five adults needing three bedrooms. The house was so spacious and well equipped that we all found space to relax and enjoy our stay. Elise had sent us detailed instructions that made our trip easy. She included everything from travel from the airport to our home (including descriptive markings) so we always knew we were on the right path, points of interest, eating places, places to shop etc. We immediately felt like we were at home and had no problem enjoying the property and treating it with the respect it deserves. The pool was great, the lanai had everything for outdoor cooking. The notes and instructions throughout the house were really appreciated. We found that everything others had written in their reviews were 100% correct. Elise checked in with us several times. It was really nice to know she was only a text away. How responsive and thoughtful of her. When we left we all were in agreement that we are coming back in two years and we hope that Elise will welcome us into her beautiful home again. We have no thoughts of staying anywhere but here."

  • Literally on the water...Best Island location

"We stayed for 10 days, what an incredible location. The moon lit the ocean at night and we could see the Lihue airport lights and planes taking off at night. Very quiet location as far as car or traffic noise, getting to and from here was a breeze, everyday we drove somewhere on the island we had not been, over 850 miles of driving on the Island ! Condo was perfect size for us, the shower was clean and tiles very clean, kitchen had all the little things you need, strainers, wine bottle opener, spatulas etc...pots and non stick pans. We made breakfast everyday here, then went out for adventures. No rushing to do anything early and finding breakfast somewhere. The ocean is 20 steps away across the very manicured grounds ! My wife was stopping to smell every flower along the way in or out...Shower-head is not one of those 5 feet off the floor, plenty of height to stand under the great water flow pressure. Closet is huge. Lots of room to hang all our clothes. The views are to die for, I could just stay here all day and listen to the waves crashing. Walk across the street to dine at: Street Burgers (OMG incredible food), Korean BBQ (ate there 5 times!! Yes it's THAT GOOD), Brick oven pizza (was good, great service), Kintaro Japanese Restaurant (one of the best on the island!!!), Passion bakery cafe (oh so incredible and fluffy), Monicos Taqueria (awesome Mexican food) ....and more ALL just across the street !! Just get to learn the traffic flow and you can get to Poipu in just 25 minutes, Costco 15 minutes, Kapaa 3 minutes, Opaeka'a Falls is 3 minutes from here, all Island destinations are just minutes away....Great rates for this place, and we loved being able to stay here compared to the $500 night places. there is no A/C here, just the cool ocean breeze flowing through the open windows, We were always gone until 7 or 9pm, and the room was cool from the breeze. Sleeping here was incredible, bed is comfy but the ocean sounds are the best. Stay here you will not regret it...."
