  • Great stay with Aloha

"The studio was perfect for our week stay in Kauai. We were welcomed by both owners, Julie and Darryl, with warmth and kindness. The unit is behind the main house and both owners are on site but we always had privacy. It is located in a quiet residential area; only 15 minutes drive to Poipu beach. The studio and linen were very clean. We found everything we needed for a comfortable stay in the studio. I would highly recommend this place. When we return to Kauai we hope to stay again!"

  • Comfortable, clean, and in a nice neighborhood.

"We enjoyed our stay at the Murray's vacation rental. Although it is part of their house, it is fairly quiet. We appreciated the fact that there were no roosters in the neighborhood waking us up at 4 am, unlike the condo we had rented on the North shore. The rental location was convenient for going to the Waimea Canyon and also Poipu Beach."

  • Perfect for our spring break with two families who shared CR1.

"This place was awesome! And affordable, which we completely appreciate since most things on the island are pretty expensive. I read somewhere that the owners try to keep it affordable so that families can enjoy their Kauai visit and I agree, so thank you!! The house had more than everything we needed. A few days were chilly and we kept busy with a hike and then just hanging out at the house playing basketball, ping pong and other games that were there. We so much appreciated the beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, boogie boards, toys, etc. It really makes a difference, and now that I know all of that is there, I'd go back again. House was clean, it is older, but it really doesn't matter since it is clean and has everything that you would need. Having a pool was a huge hit. The big sliding doors opening to the beautiful yard and pool is really nice. The kids found lizards in the backyard. The house is close to the road and you can hear the cars but each room has a big fan and we would just run that at night and couldn't hear a thing. Thank you so much Gary and crew for everything. We had an absolutely wonderful holiday and will be back again!"

  • Beautiful and spacious neighborhood home--Great deck and views

"We stayed at Lyle's place for two weeks in January 2016. The house was nicer even than represented in the VRBO pics and description. The owner, Lyle, was very responsive but completely unobtrusive, and we enjoyed privacy the whole trip and really felt like we were in a home--not a rental. Very spacious layout and large living space with wrap-around windows. We all especially loved the the deck which wraps around from front around to the back with stairs leading into the back yard. Our little ones (5 yrs and 2yrs) really enjoyed the front and back lawn areas, as well as exploring the new tropical plants within the landscape (Fruiting bananas, ginger, coconut tree--and my 5 yr old especially loved the "sensitive plant" which moves in response to touch). The home itself is perfect as a home away from home, complete with stocked kitchen (I enjoyed the blenders for all the fresh fruit we got from the farmers markets), very nice linens (a touch that my wife and mother-in-law really appreciated), nice private bedrooms with plenty of space. Two bathrooms were great to have (even a bonus third one downstairs in the garage if you have more people staying). We were three adults and two small children, and we had tons of room to spare--this house would easily accommodate a bigger family and more sleepers (I think that the couches pull out in the living room and the master bedroom has a large sleeping chair that we used a few nights for the 2 year old to pass out on). The bedrooms are on the quietest side of the house, which was great to muffle the only noise issue; the next door neighbors have 5 or 6 bulldogs which choose late night to not only bark, but also snarl in a really strange and primal way (this might be an issue if you have people sleeping in the living room). The house is an easy 5 minute drive (about 3 miles) from the ocean; close to Po'ipu beach--great kid beach, and good shopping in the more touristy Kukui ula shopping center [Longs Drugs, upscale retail shops, and fancy restaurants--we tried Merriman's one night, which was a very nice date night and delicious meal]. Close by still is the more rustic Koloa town with fun shopping and a more local feel. The only drawback to the house location is that as close as it is by car to everything, we couldn't really throw the kid in a stroller and walk anywhere from the house. All in all--We loved the house and felt completely at home here--we will definitely be repeat renters. Thanks Lyle!"
