  • We loved the location near Poipu Beach, close to the water and overlooking the cactus garden.

"The property is really tasteful and beautiful. Clean and well maintained and so comfortable. We had cool breezes every night and were never too hot to relax and get a good night's sleep. The fans were truly all we needed and this was in mid July. Turns out It was one of the best places to stay on the south shore. Perfect location, with a plantation feel - large trees, and paths through gardens, and beautiful landscaping. Quick walk to the beach. We loved Poipu Beach - we saw monk seals playing in the surf very close, and turtles on the beach early in the morning. There are tidal pools out on the sandbar. Also, it was a perfect launching point for all places south, such as stunning Waimea Canyon with breathtaking views of the Napali Coast and all southern boat docs for tours. There are are some great restaurants and shops nearby such as Kioki's Paradise with a little river going right through it, as well as frequent hula shows by local people in a little there. Don't forget to get a Puka Dog. Make it genuine Hawaiian and do have the relish - mango was good! Also, just to the west on Poipu Road by the round about are some very nice art galleries and shops. Definitely get some ice cream at Lapperts, it will change your life. Especially if you get coconut and dark chocolate together. That was our last taste of Hawaii as we left. It was sad leaving this beautiful place, and the property was truly a home away from home. Very nice. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants a very nice retreat with inspiring beauty and plenty of things to do nearby. If you like to explore, then it's a great place to come home to late and get a good night's sleep before another day of serious adventure. We loved it."

  • Perfect for our spring break with two families who shared CR1.

"This place was awesome! And affordable, which we completely appreciate since most things on the island are pretty expensive. I read somewhere that the owners try to keep it affordable so that families can enjoy their Kauai visit and I agree, so thank you!! The house had more than everything we needed. A few days were chilly and we kept busy with a hike and then just hanging out at the house playing basketball, ping pong and other games that were there. We so much appreciated the beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, boogie boards, toys, etc. It really makes a difference, and now that I know all of that is there, I'd go back again. House was clean, it is older, but it really doesn't matter since it is clean and has everything that you would need. Having a pool was a huge hit. The big sliding doors opening to the beautiful yard and pool is really nice. The kids found lizards in the backyard. The house is close to the road and you can hear the cars but each room has a big fan and we would just run that at night and couldn't hear a thing. Thank you so much Gary and crew for everything. We had an absolutely wonderful holiday and will be back again!"

  • Heavenly but hot

"This cottage is just as it appears and met all my expectations except one. It has air conditioning, but the air conditioner is about 2 feet wide and one foot tall. It is just not up to the task. I was asked not to run the air conditioner due to their high electric bills. When I came back to the cottage the air conditioner thermometer registered 92 degrees! I've been here for over an hour and it still registers 92 degrees!"

  • Perfect!

"Really enjoyed our stay here. Scott the owner was absolutely a delight to deal with, very quick to respond to any inquiries and questions. The unit was clean and at a fabulous location near a fantastic snorkelling beach. There is no elevator so if you have heavy suit cases and lots of luggage, it may take a couple of trips. The balcony was great to sit on, the pool area fabulous. BBQ's for you to use near the pool were new and worked great. Highly recommended."
