  • Far Exceeded Expectations!

"This home was much more that we hoped it would be! From the kitchen to the beach gear we found this home to be a perfect landing place at the end of many long days. The beds were comfortable and grill was an added bonus! Being in a home also really made our vacation whole versus the times we have stayed at a hotel or resort, as we were able to stretch out and give everyone their own space. Lyle was very easy to work with and communicated at all stages. The pricing could not be beat and I can promise our next trip to Kauai will start with an email to Lyle! Thank you so much to the Otsuka family for sharing their home with us!!"

  • Our winter home

"We have been privileged to experience two extended winter vacations at Hale O Ani and are returning again in 2017. That is probably, in and of itself, testimony to how wonderful this property is. But to restate the highlights and some additional insights I would like to share the following, much of which is supported by other reviewers of this outstanding property. First is "quality". Everything, in Hale O Ani is of the highest quality. The dishes, glassware, appliances, bedding, furniture, hardwood floors. The owners Faye and Bob are delightful, fun and responsive to needs and wants and willing to share their insights into interesting side trips. I could go on, but want to mention a few things that have proved important to us; particularly the surrounding area. When you leave Route 50 and drive up the road to the property it feels like entering Jurassic Park! The vegetation is so lush and stunning that in some places it is breathtaking. This sets the stage for a feeling of wonder and tranquility. When approaching the house from the driveway we’ve encountered Sharma Thrush singing their sweet and unusual song along with all sorts of other interesting birds. We have been fortunate enough to pick bananas off the trees in the driveway and stay long enough to eat them! The view of the palm tree from one of the bedrooms is like a live painting and the bougainvillea cascading over the hot tub in full bloom is outstanding. As a matter of fact it is the last picture I took before we left at the end of March. All in all Hale O’ Ani is a fabulous retreat, getaway, hideaway, or whatever one chooses to call it. All we know is that it is soothing to us, both inside the property and outside where it is positioned up in the hills far enough away from the hustle (but not too far) to feel like a sanctuary. We are grateful to be able to leave Upstate NY for most of the winter and now call Hale O’Ani, our winter home. Not visitors, not tourists. We come home in the winter…."

  • Breathtaking Ocean Sunrises!

"We Stayed 11 wonderful rain-free days in Nov, 2016 at Kapa'a Shores in the heart of the island. This Condo came fully equipped with everything from beach chairs to cooking spices for our vacation, not to mention the constant music of the ocean that fills the condo 24/7. This condo is perfectly placed for touring the north of the island with its great beach's like Anini and the fabulous National Botanical Limahuli Garden. The Condo is a quiet retreat, and you will find the red crested Cardinal sharing your early morning breakfast with you if you are very quiet on the lanai. We enjoyed the uncrowded hot tub every evening under the full super moon and the warm heated pool. Very easy to take off and discover the south of the island treasures too... Moir Gardens with its 40 species of Orchids is approx. 25 min. away and then there is the great Na Pali coast accessible by catamaran cruises. The Kapa'a Shore Condo is centrally located on the eastern shore and has everything you need for the best vacation you will ever have. The people in Kauai redefine kindness, and they go out of their way to greet you and answer questions. "Aloha" is certainly not an empty expression in Kauai, in fact it's a way of life! We saw it in the stores the beaches, the restaurants, museums, in traffic...this kindness and respect for others really makes this a very special vacation. Nitya is a wonderful man to work with, easy and fast to get back to you. We found everything in the condo without a problem. We had more TV channels than we ever watched as we came home from exploring every day, but usually too tired for TV, but always ready for the great hot tub, plus the sunrises were unbelievable!! One day we were sitting in the Condo and Hawaiian rowers in traditional boats rowed right past us out in the ocean...Amazing! The ocean view from this Condo is nothing short of breath taking every moment! I miss it now. This Condo is a tropical treasure! Thank you Nitya for Sharing your Gem!"

  • Another amazing stay!

"My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at this wonderful cottage. The house is set up with everything one needs and is very comfortable and inviting. We spent most of our time out on the screened lanai, enjoying the views of the country side and hills. The lanai is the perfect size, with enough room for a large dining table, as well as several comfortable chairs. It feels very peaceful and relaxing, but it is only minutes from the restaurants of Koloa and Poipu, and the beach. Mahalo for sharing your cottage. We look forward to hopefully staying here again!"
