  • Paradise! Perfect in (almost) every way!

"My husband and I loved our stay for 8 nights in this 1 bedroom condo, on the first floor, with private lanai. It was very clean, comfortable, and very close to the beach, although with no beach view. The view from the lanai is of tropical foliage and the adjacent building. Neighbors in our building and surrounding buildings were very quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, appliances, and cookware, although some items like a steamer basket for vegetables, and covered microwaveable dishes would be a nice addition. There are nearby outdoor gas grills for barbecuing, which are cleaned daily by the staff. The lanai has 2 lounge chairs, and a table and 4 chairs for outdoor dining. The owners have nicely provided 2 boogie boards, beach toys, and beach chairs. The bedroom was small and almost entirely filled by the very comfortable king sized bed, leaving little room to walk around or set up suitcases, although there are bedside tables and a chest of drawers for those who choose to unpack. No AC, but ceiling fans, portable fans, and screened windows provided plenty of ventilation so we were never overly warm. The bathroom had tub/shower combo, ample granite countertops, fluffy towels, hairdryer, and fragrant soap/shampoo/ conditioner in pump containers. There are TVs in the bedroom and living room (which we never turned on--too much else to do!), radio, comfortable couch and chairs with good light for reading. The decorations are all Hawaii themed and attractive. Beach towels are available at the beach-side desk, which was also very helpful with information about the area, and for making a reservation for us for a boat trip to the NaPali coast. The complex is very well maintained, with beautiful tropical plants and huge shade trees and palms, winding walkways, and little lakes. The orchid and cactus garden on the property is a beautiful place to stroll. The lawns are huge, well manicured, and perfect for family games. Lawn chairs there are the perfect place to lie and watch the sunsets. The beach is clean, not overly crowded, and has generally low surf. Snorkeling was good along the rocky margins at either end. From Kiahuna Plantation you can stroll down the beach, and through adjacent properties on walkways, for several miles. The location on the sunnier, warmer south shore is perfect, with proximity to Waimea Canyon and Allerton Garden. Nearby Koloa is a fun town to explore, with history exhibits, shops, and restaurants. Perfect vacation!"

  • Beautiful, comfortable home!

"Thank you so much for sharing your lovely Hawaiian home with us. The place had everything - boogie boards, football, chairs - beach perfect! The view was just as promised. This location was great, right across the street from some great casual dining and shops. The restaurant on site was excellent! Beds were comfortable. Daily breakfast out on the lanai was just what we wanted. We will be back for sure!"

  • Wonderful and private little home.

"My family and I just spent a week in Kauai, and stayed in Herb and Gale's Royal Palm Villa. The unit is tucked in the back of the "Hideaway Cove" units, so it was slightly difficult to find at first, but gave my family a lot of privacy. I LOVE that this home had air conditioning. We stayed in Maui for a week in a beautiful home without air conditioning, and it was a terrible experience. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking and dining accoutrements (my parents complained a little that there wasn't a rice cooker), and there is a laundry facility behind the unit. It is walking distance to Poipu Beach, however parking at the beach is not difficult at all. Gale was so helpful in helping me book a scuba and boat tour of the Na Pali coast (which I highly recommend...but definitely take your dramamine!). Overall, this was a wonderful experience. Thank you Herb and Gale for being such wonderful hosts."

  • Paradise

""Wow! We're in paradise", is what my daughter exclaimed when we drove on to the property; our first time in Kauai. This great condo has a feeling of Kauai inside and out---only 90 steps to the beach. Unit was clean, comfortable and conveniently located. We enjoyed meals on the lanai and dinning room table with great panoramic views of the towering palms, and sounds of the ocean waves breaking on the breach. Enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this unit highly---we would definitely return."
