  • Four and a half stars.

"We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff was fantastic and the owner was very helpful with the booking. The condo isn't brand new but has been upgraded and is VERY well maintained and although it is a ground floor unit at the entrance the lanai overlooking the garden is actually at second floor height so you have quite a bit of privacy. Speaking of the garden it is the only thing that kept us from giving a 5 star rating (there is no 4.5 rating). Although the gardens are very nice no one seems to be maintaining them. Some of the paths through them have been allowed to grow in and the water features are not operating. It is still a nice place but it seems to be "unloved" and returning to it's original state. Other than the garden everything is first rate. The beach is a 3 minute walk away and there are plenty of beach chairs. It's even closer to a wall that people sit on and watch the sun set over the ocean. There is a golf course within walking distance as well as shopping and restaurants. The closet is full of beach gear including boogie boards and snorkel gear and the kitchen is well stocked if you decided to cook. So if don't need to have everything shiny and new and are happy with a more comfortable but still clean and thoughtfully upgraded place that has a homey feel you can't go wrong with this rental."

  • No place like Kauai and the Kiahuna

"Returned to Kauai and the Kiahuna for our anniversary again this year and once again reminded why we keep returning. The Kiahuna Plantation offers everything one could want for an island vacation, beautiful surroundings, gardens, beautiful beaches within walking distance, shopping close by and all the hiking you could imagine. There is also golf, tennis, and workout gym, and pool for younger ones as well. With all of this Kauai still maintains that small island flavor. This year we headed to the north side and took the Wai Koa Loop trail in Kilauea. This is a 6 mile loop trail that wonders through mahogany forests, streams, working farms dotted with Urts ( small farm houses), and a spectacular water fall to finish. Well worth the drive. We finished our day with a stop in the small funky town of Kappa and had lunch at the " best margarita " restaurant in town. Right on the main road, fantastic, ice cold beer and great food. Many days were spent at our favorite beach at the Kiahuna Plantation where swimming and snorkeling are fantastic as well. This year we stayed at unit 223 owned by Volker and Gina Bauerle the unit had everything you could want, beautiful garden view, once again close to our favorite beach and just about everything else one could want. Also was beautifully remodeled and must say the bed in master bedroom was the best bed I've slept on. Much thanks to Volker and Gina for their gracious hospitality. We are already planning our return visit. Ed and Sue Killoran"

  • Beautiful condo for 2

"This condo is in a nice location in Poipu, with a short walk to an amazing beach with great snorkeling. The amenities at the Kihuna Plantation are nice as well - gear rental and surfing lessons on site. The pool and workout area are across the street. The interior is tastefully decorated with a very comfortable king bed and nice bathroom. The condo features louvered windows to let the Hawaii breeze blow straight through. There is no A/C in this unit, but you don't need it. The owner has beach chairs and other goodies available, and the Kihuna Plantation offers beach towels, so you're set!"

  • Comfortable condo in a pretty setting

"Location was convieniently located for shopping, restaurants and pool, across the road, which we walked to. Had a peek-aboo view of ocean. The beach in front of the Plantation was the best and a small stroll on the path to it was no big deal. Mostly great sunsets. The condo was comfortable but a little bathroom updating and carpet cleaning would be our only FYI."
