  • Wonderful location

"Four adults spent 7 days in this condo and had a wonderful time. Loved the location in relation to the beach and shopping. Pro's: Clean 2 bed/2 bath, washer & dryer, large lanai, view of the ocean, full kitchen, community bbq grills right outside, comfortable beds, 4 electric fans (which we needed each night). Con's: Dated decor in bedrooms/livingroom, no a/c (which we could have used at night), ice maker not working, only one roll of paper towels and two tissues in the box, kitchen could use foil & plastic wrap. While this lacked many of the extra's we have experienced in past VRBO rentals overall it was a lovely place to stay."

  • Amazing Poipu home in a fantastic location!

"This is a wonderful property: well appointed, incredibly convenient, and comfortable. As if the ocean view from many places in the house wasn't enough, the home is located within walking distance (less than 15 minutes) from several very good beaches, including the super family- and child-friendly Brennecke and Poipu Beaches and the surf-friendly-fun Shipwreck Beach (my kids' favorite). You can watch the sun set by walking out on the point just across the street, and there is easy access to a variety of walking trails - almost all with spectacular views. The location of the house makes it convenient to head to Lihue to pick up supplies at Costco (highly recommend the Lihue Costco!) or Walmart or to visit Gaylord's for a luau or to do a tubing adventure with Kauai Backcountry Outfitters. Waimea Canyon is a short and scenic 45-min drive and a MUST see, plus you can stop at JoJo's Shave Ice in Waimea for a treat on the way home. Just 20 minutes away is Port Allen, from where we left for a late afternoon sunset dinner sail. There is lovely shopping in Poipu (the Wednesday culinary market is fantastic) and in Old Koloa Town, which is just a few short minutes drive. The house itself is remarkably comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked (we chose to cook rather than eat out every night). There were plenty of beach towels and beach supplies (chairs, umbrellas, toys), the beds were comfortable, and there were board games for a rainy afternoon. We will definitely be back!"

  • Best Seat in the House

"My wife and I stayed in this unit for 16 days starting on Jan 16, 2016 and enjoyed it thoroughly. The unit was beautiful and exactly as represented on the website. We had stayed in two other units in this complex previously but this one really stood out from the other two. The view from the 3rd floor is a commanding one (nice feature: even tho the unit is on the 3rd floor the building is configured in a way that requires only one flight of stairs. I have some mobility issues but had zero problems negotiating the stairs) and the building is designed in such a way that you cannot see the units to your left or right. The sunsets as viewed from the lanai are like God's own wide screen TV. I loved the newly installed wood floors because, unlike the carpeting we had in the other two units, the wood doesn't smell musty or feel perpetually damp. The unit has its own washer and dryer, which is a huge convenience and also a second bathroom, an even bigger convenience. With the 2nd bathroom my wife and I could get ready for the day simultaneously, which probably saved us an hour every day. We were there for 16 days so that's a LOT of extra time we could spend vacationing instead of drying our hair. This area is a GREAT location and close to an amazing array of cool stuff. The unit is well appointed and aside from a kitchen that looks perhaps a bit dated, everything is beautiful and functional. Time spent on Kauai is fantastic; staying here enhances an already wonderful experience. Bottom line: my wife and I loved it and in fact booked a return stay for 2017 in this same unit. Can I make one suggestion? Wood floors can scratch easily and it's imperative to keep them scrupulously free of any kind of dirt or grit. Even with us removing our shoes at the door we found that it was easy to track in, especially from the lanai where the lanai floor would accumulate debris blown off of the trees. I either swept or vacuumed every day to keep the floors clean. A $30 stick vac with an easy-to-empty dirt cup would make it a breeze to keep the floors flawless. The old canister vac is cumbersome and awkward to use. Just a thought. We had a fabulous time. Thanks for letting us use your home."

  • Fantastic Ocean View Condo

"The Condo was very nice and the view from the Lanai was just fantastic. Falling asleep listening to the ocean waves crashing up against the rocks was just wonderful. Updated range and master bath were also very nice. We had a great time in this condo. We are in our 60's so we did not use any of the added items for the beach that are available in the condo. Thanks Caren and Doug for having such a nice place to stay."
