  • Nice condo for the money

"My husband and I vacationed here with our two grown children. The condo was nice and roomy with the exception of a tiny 2nd bedroom. We had hoped we could return with another couple but it is not suitable for two couples. The master bedroom and bath are very spacious while the other bedroom is very small and it's bathroom is down the hall by the front door. The very well stocked toy cupboard was very much appreciated with umbrella, coolers, snorkels, beach chairs etc... The kitchen was well equipped with lots of spices and condiments, a nice change from some other properties we have rented in Poipu that don't even include salt and pepper! The lanai faces the setting sun and is very very hot in the late afternoon. There is an awning but it is locked and only for the owners. There was an umbrella stand so we used the beach umbrella for some shade, but it was a little crowded under the umbrella for four of us in the afternoon, sitting inside was not an option for us but the sun sets early so only a minor annoyance. Also, the pictures shown are a bit deceiving as they show the bedrooms being airy and full of light . However the windows face the parking lot so you must keep the blinds down all the time, not a huge problem but something to note. Also, the sprinklers go off every night and happen to spray the lanai but they only stay on for 10 minutes so it is a minor nuisance only. The pool was very close, lots of people use it but it is quiet in the evenings, just the usual noises associated with people on holidays and the happy laughter of children having fun. I would recommend this property, it is well located, close to the great beaches and walking paths. Chad the manger was great in replying quickly when I first inquired and the check in worked exactly as stated. For the money it is great value."

  • Celebrated 30th Anniversary

"We loved our week long stay at Hololani. Everything was as described in the listing--no surprises. Communications with the rental office were prompt. The location is pretty good. It is about 1/2 mile to Poipu beach. I went on foot almost every day to snorkel and we drove when we had beach gear to haul. About 1/2 mile in the other direction was Shipwreck beach (by the Hyatt) but due to high surf no safe swimming. However, right there is the start of the Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail which had gorgeous views. The farther you get down the trail, the farther you want to go. We were also able to explore the island with day trips to the north shore and west to Waimea canyon. Other general recommendations: Blue Dolphin Sunset Cruise, Hukilau Lanai (nice dinner), and the farmer's market in Koloa (fresh fruit for breakfast)."

  • First time in Kauai

"We just had a fabulous time at this condo. It was wonderful to see and hear the ocean every day. Being so close to the ocean was heaven. The condo just fit the two of us perfectly and it had all we needed for a great vacation. We used the cooler most days as we explored the island. The windows in the front and back of the condo kept the condo very comfortable with the ocean breezes. The owner was easy to work with and really wonderful giving us lots of information and suggestions for our first trip to Kauai. Plus she kindly checked that we made it to the condo when our flight was delayed. The condo was easy to access and very quiet. We very much enjoyed eating on the lanai each morning, watching the sunrise and seeing the changes in the ocean. It was a very convenient base to explore all of Kauai. Being able to walk the paths in front of the Hyatt and the nearby condos was spectacular. We highly recommend the Hawaiian music and hula at the Hyatt that is available each evening. We could easily walk to Shipwreck Beach from the condo. We loved exploring the rock there and the Heritage Trail that is nearby. Captain Andy's evening cruise along the Napali coast was fantastic - great food and amazing scenery. Our vacation was a dream come true and this condo was no small part of it. We didn't want to leave and look forward to a return trip to this condo."

  • Perfect house for two families

"The house was well layed out, clean and centrally located. We walked to Shipwreck's Beach every morning to watch the sunrise and took the same path in the opposite direction to watch the sunset. It was well stocked with beach equipment and towels. We look forward to staying here again. Thanks Sonya!"
