  • Lovely, very well equipped condo in ideal spot

"The condo is exactly as advertised and described in the listing and other reviews. The quality of the furnishings is very good, and the condo was by far the best stocked condo we have ever rented. It even had two seats outside the door where you could take your shoes (or slippahs) off before coming in. Great location, close to everything on the South Shore. Bruce replied very quickly to all communications and was very helpful. The walk along the cliffs that he recommends is one of the highlights of the trip. In the three weeks we were there, I must have done the walk 10-12 times. I would never tire of it. Try walking at least as far as the sinkhole, a fascinating tour when it's open. If you're looking for a beautiful, worry-free holiday in paradise, this is it."

  • Great condo steps from the beach

"We spent 1 week of our 3 week Hawaii vacation at this condo, We found it to be very clean and well equipped, including beach chairs and umbrellas. It was nice that everything in the condo was labeled and instructions, if needed, were provided. The location was great-steps away from the Hyatt Regency and Shipwreck beach. It was very convenient for exploring the south shore of Kauai including spectacular Wiamea Canyon. We loved walking the paths near the condo and spotted many turtles, whales and monk seals. We enjoyed eating out at nearby restaurants including Beach House and Keoki"s. We advise shopping for groceries in Lihue as the stores in Poipu and Koloa are expensive and have very limited selections."

  • Good Condo

"This condo was as advertised. Beautiful grounds, and nice patio with a view. This condo is in close proximity to the Hyatt, and Shipwrecks Beach. Inside, the Condo was equipped with the essentials for cooking, (although we chose to eat out). This is the 4th condo I have stayed at in Poipu, and the condo itself was on par with each one. I would rate the Poiup Sands grounds first overall. The grounds are spacious , clean and private. The pool area is also clean and private. Our only complaint was the bed and the shower head in the bathroom. The mattress is beyond its life expectancy and should have been replaced years ago. My wife is 115 pounds and still would sink down into the mattress. We both woke up with sore backs each day. We are both in excellent shape and we our not complainers but a future renter should be aware of this. The shower head in the bathroom has no power so if you have a full head of hair (as my wife does) it doesn't get the soap out. In spite of these 2 negatives I still give this condo 4 stars."

  • Amazing location!

"We stayed at Poipu Sands unit in October for 1 week. The best thing about this property is the amazing location! Easy walk to the beach. 2 minute walk to the grand Hyatt. If you don't feel like walking to the beach (2 minutes) you call always just sit out in the grass lawn. The unit itself is very nice with nice decor and an open floor plan. Both rooms have a private bathroom. It would really work great for two couples to share or a single family. Poipu itself is a great area to stay at when you are in Kauai. The property is managed by Suite Paradise. They are very helpful and responsive and make the booking/checkout process a breeze. Suggest booking directly with them on their website. My only suggestion would be a little more focus on the details by the cleaning crew. Overall the unit was cleaned adequately. Just things like the tile floor needed to be mopped more throughly and moving some of the furniture to periodically dust/clean under them would be nice. I will admit however that I am very particular regarding that kind of stuff. Some people probably wouldn't have noticed it. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and this unit is an EXCELLENT value for the price. We will definitely be coming back."
