  • Great location!

"The condo was clean, had a great view over the water, no AC but the ocean breezes kept everything comfortable, and was fully stocked with dishes, beach towels, etc. We did get an early knock on the door our first AM from maintenance regarding a water leak in a condo below us but he was pleasant and waited until we were ready to leave to check for the plumbing issue. We would definitely stay again."

  • Wonderful and private little home.

"My family and I just spent a week in Kauai, and stayed in Herb and Gale's Royal Palm Villa. The unit is tucked in the back of the "Hideaway Cove" units, so it was slightly difficult to find at first, but gave my family a lot of privacy. I LOVE that this home had air conditioning. We stayed in Maui for a week in a beautiful home without air conditioning, and it was a terrible experience. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking and dining accoutrements (my parents complained a little that there wasn't a rice cooker), and there is a laundry facility behind the unit. It is walking distance to Poipu Beach, however parking at the beach is not difficult at all. Gale was so helpful in helping me book a scuba and boat tour of the Na Pali coast (which I highly recommend...but definitely take your dramamine!). Overall, this was a wonderful experience. Thank you Herb and Gale for being such wonderful hosts."

  • Quiet haven

"This was our third vacation at Kiahuna and our second stay at this particular condo -- we love this place every time. Kiahuna is a quiet, green, lovely gem where walking to a beautiful, swimmable (in both winter and summer) beach is easy and pleasant. While in the condo, we enjoy the birds singing, the greenery and flowers, and the general mellow vibe of Kiahuna. This condo is quiet, bright and clean, and the new furniture and bed make it just perfect for us. The lanai is lovely to sit on with afternoon sun, and even when we were inside preparing meals, we had the lanai doors open so the breeze through the screens, and the view of the expansive lawn and skies, made me feel like I was still outside. The Hawaiian CDs are a great touch to make the vacation complete. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I wish the condo had a view of the ocean, but other than that it is perfect....and the view is pretty with lawn and trees. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us! We'll be back as often as we can!"

  • Great find at a great price!

"My husband and I stayed here for 10 days on our honeymoon and were very pleased with our experience! The condo was true to the pictures. The grounds of Kiahuna Plantation were incredibly well-maintained. We enjoyed the short walk from our condo to the beach because we got to walk through the beautiful gardens! We ate breakfast on the lanai almost every morning and loved the view from the lanai at sunrise and sunset. Our only complaint (and this may be common among lots of condos on Kauai) was that the doors and windows don't have glass seals. They only have screens and louvered interior shutters, so noise from the outside can be heard very clearly inside. It wasn't a huge issue because the other guests in our building were not overly loud or disruptive, but it was something we were not expecting. Other than that, we loved our stay! The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking tools, and the condo and grounds are in excellent condition. The Sheraton and the Marriott are both shorts walks from the condo, so you get the amenities of the resorts without paying the resort prices while getting the space and privacy of a condo. We thought it was a great place for a great price, especially compared to other rentals in the same area. The South Shore has tons of restaurants, sunshine in the winter, and great beaches. We thought it was the best part of the island to stay on! Be sure to check out Little Fish Coffee across the street for a great coffee/breakfast!"
