  • Really Fantastic 3 1/2

"We enjoyed our stay with some positives as well as some not so goods The unit is nicely furnished and the pictures illustrated really reflect what you will find. The amenities both in the bathrooms, kitchen and recreational equipment were generous and more than adequate for our stay. The pool and hot tub were nearby and never really crowded even during Christmas week. The location is adjacent to the terrific trail down to Shipwreck Beech Now some concerns There really are four bedrooms but the fourth requires walk through the third and a shared bathroom to access. OK if the bedroom is for kids and the third bedroom is their parents, but for separate adults..awkward Terrible mattresses in the upstairs bedrooms The condo location is noisy. Every dope making the turn for Lihue seems required to "impress" by showing how defective their mufflers are by stepping on the gas as hard as possible. This seems to go on at all hours The air conditioning was a mystery for all of us. We never seemed to be able to figure out to control it and the air conditioning seemed to run much more than necessary Last. Parking is always a challenge. Most spots are reserved and all slots are designed for smaller compacts, not the typical rental. All in all we enjoyed the unit and our stay"

  • Beautiful unit and amzing views

"We just got home from a week in paradise. The location of this unit was perfect, especially with 3 little kids who needed naps, snacks and to get out of the sun. The unit it self is beautiful with lots of upgrades and everything you need to cook meals at home."

  • Great spot at Kiahuna Plantation

"This was our third trip to Kiahuna Plantation and first time staying at the Garlands' place. The condo is a 2BR/2Bath, very nicely furnished, spotless, situated close to the restaurant and office, with a peak of the Ocean out of the living room. On our previous visits, we booked directly with Outrigger, which was fine. However, having a point of contact, especially one as helpful as Judy, was a much more pleasant experience. I would recommend the Garlands' place on that basis alone. She helped coordinate our arrival, made recommendations for restaurants, checked in with me numerous times to make sure I had everything I needed, and then made arrangements for us to check in to the condo early, which was a huge help as we got there in the morning. Thank you, Judy. The garden location was very nice, and very quiet. There's a bbq right down below the unit, which we used a couple of times. I also appreciated the proximity to the restaurant/bar and a couple of times my wife and I hopped over there for a cocktail before dinner. The location also puts you close to the Poipu shopping village - we walked over there each morning for coffee. The unit itself was great. It has every amenity you would expect to find in a well stocked place. Beds were very comfortable and easily accommodated our family of 4, with room to spare. Everything was exactly as advertised. Lastly, I'll just give a shout out to Kiahuna Plantation in general. I've yet to find a place on Kauai that can match the killer beachfront location, ambiance (just walk the grounds at dusk and you'll se what I mean) and chill vibe of Kiahuna. I get the impression that they get a lot of repeat visitors and it's easy to see why. Thanks again to Garland family for having us."

  • Great house, very convenient to beach

"Just spent 6 great days in Poipu at the Surfrider suite (second floor of the house). The place was very clean and nicely decorated (pineapple motif). The kitchen was great - nice appliances, and perfectly stocked with mostly nice newish complete sets of dishes, silverware, pots, etc., rather than the random mishmash of old junk we often encounter at even expensive rentals, as well as a useful assortment of basic cooking supplies. We did a lot of cooking and found everything we needed. The gas grill on the large wrap-around lanai was very convenient too. Eating out on the lanai was very pleasant. Best of all, the house was about 100 steps away from the park adjoining Poipu Beach, so maybe a minute walk to the park, and then another minute across the park to the beach. Couldn't be more convenient! The beach itself has a nice calm area good for little kids, and then another area good for snorkeling. A better swimming and surfing beach is another 5-minute walk down the shore by the Sheraton."
