  • Lovely house near beaches

"Hale Malukia is a beautiful house which overlooks a greensward with paths to beaches and a distant view of the ocean. The house is very sunny and pleasant. The kitchen is well-stocked with pans, dishes and appliances. The bedrooms are comfy but note that the beds in the 3rd bedroom are short with boards across the bottom, which was a bit difficult for my 6'5" son. The trundle bed in the second bedroom is also short. The enclosed pool was very nice (icy cold at New Years!) and the most private spot in the house since it was not visible from the nearby trail. We had some minor problems, like sometimes there was no hot water for showers and we couldn't heat the spa, and the garden fountain didn't work, but overall the house is so beautiful we didn't care. It would have been nice if the master bathroom sinks drained. There are boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach chairs and coolers in the garage. The 10 a.m. Checkout came very early, and we were denied an extension due to the next guests arriving."

  • Great find at a great price!

"My husband and I stayed here for 10 days on our honeymoon and were very pleased with our experience! The condo was true to the pictures. The grounds of Kiahuna Plantation were incredibly well-maintained. We enjoyed the short walk from our condo to the beach because we got to walk through the beautiful gardens! We ate breakfast on the lanai almost every morning and loved the view from the lanai at sunrise and sunset. Our only complaint (and this may be common among lots of condos on Kauai) was that the doors and windows don't have glass seals. They only have screens and louvered interior shutters, so noise from the outside can be heard very clearly inside. It wasn't a huge issue because the other guests in our building were not overly loud or disruptive, but it was something we were not expecting. Other than that, we loved our stay! The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking tools, and the condo and grounds are in excellent condition. The Sheraton and the Marriott are both shorts walks from the condo, so you get the amenities of the resorts without paying the resort prices while getting the space and privacy of a condo. We thought it was a great place for a great price, especially compared to other rentals in the same area. The South Shore has tons of restaurants, sunshine in the winter, and great beaches. We thought it was the best part of the island to stay on! Be sure to check out Little Fish Coffee across the street for a great coffee/breakfast!"

  • Expansive Views!

"Staying in #99 was truly a joy! This top floor suite offers wonderful views, cooling tradewinds, quiet surroundings (except for the welcoming sounds of songbirds), and all conveniences at your fingertips. Poipu Beach is fun for all ages, and with a car you can be at close-by picnic spots, shopping, gardens (don't miss the Allerton Botanical Garden tour), ocean sports, hikes, Lydgate Park, plus so much more. Jack makes bookings easy, although taking credit cards would be a plus. Second stay at this unit coming up this year ~ can't wait!! Aloha and Mahalo for such a lovely spot to vacation."

  • Beautiful, spacious home and very gracious hosts

"This is a lovely space--lots of thoughtful details, roomy and conveniently located. The kitchen was well stocked with condiments and, very considerately, our hosts let us know that before we arrived. I don't think I've ever stayed at a home that was as well documented. :) There was an itemized binder with helpful details about the home, the neighborhood and nearby stores ( i.e. which places fill the aisles with inexpensive items filled with high-fructose corn syrup and when and where to find the weekly farmers' market), which might sound like too much for some people but I sort of fell in love at that moment. It saved us lots of time and, along with other great communication, made us feel like they really want us to enjoy their place as much as they did. Also, there's a closet full of great beach stuff. I know virgin olive oil. Himalayan salt and good beach chairs might not sound like much, but they made our holiday much easier. Many thanks!"
