  • Beautiful Location; Poor Condition and Property Management

"We stayed in this condo for 1 week. We have stayed at this property (Kuhio Shores) many times before in different units. Most beautiful location on the beach/rocks in all of Poipu. We rented this unit because we were traveling with another couple and needed a 2-bedroom. Desperately needs a renovation. The furniture is shabby, the kitchen is ill-equipped, the bathroom tub drain was clogged and took forever to drain, and everything was dirty and dusty. We cleaned some while we were there. Property Management Company was not helpful. Mentioned the lack of kitchen supplies and the drain and they were not interested. By the way, don't be in a hurry to get your deposit back as it took them 3 and one-half weeks to return my money. In my opinion, very expensive for a unit desperately in need of renovation. I gave it a "good" only due to the view/location."

  • Great Family Vacation

"The house has a fabulous location. Close to the beach. Beautiful views of the ocean from the rooftop deck. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you could need. The overall house is very spacious (larger than we expected after viewing the online pictures). Our family included 3 generations and we all had ample space to spread out. Unfortunately the house does not have air conditioning. The trade winds were not blowing during our trip so we were toasty with only fans (and cold showers) to cool off."

  • Great spot at Kiahuna Plantation

"This was our third trip to Kiahuna Plantation and first time staying at the Garlands' place. The condo is a 2BR/2Bath, very nicely furnished, spotless, situated close to the restaurant and office, with a peak of the Ocean out of the living room. On our previous visits, we booked directly with Outrigger, which was fine. However, having a point of contact, especially one as helpful as Judy, was a much more pleasant experience. I would recommend the Garlands' place on that basis alone. She helped coordinate our arrival, made recommendations for restaurants, checked in with me numerous times to make sure I had everything I needed, and then made arrangements for us to check in to the condo early, which was a huge help as we got there in the morning. Thank you, Judy. The garden location was very nice, and very quiet. There's a bbq right down below the unit, which we used a couple of times. I also appreciated the proximity to the restaurant/bar and a couple of times my wife and I hopped over there for a cocktail before dinner. The location also puts you close to the Poipu shopping village - we walked over there each morning for coffee. The unit itself was great. It has every amenity you would expect to find in a well stocked place. Beds were very comfortable and easily accommodated our family of 4, with room to spare. Everything was exactly as advertised. Lastly, I'll just give a shout out to Kiahuna Plantation in general. I've yet to find a place on Kauai that can match the killer beachfront location, ambiance (just walk the grounds at dusk and you'll se what I mean) and chill vibe of Kiahuna. I get the impression that they get a lot of repeat visitors and it's easy to see why. Thanks again to Garland family for having us."

  • Floridians in Kauai.

"Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property is beautiful. I loved my unit and the staff. The grounds around the pool are lovely but not stroller or wheel chair friendly. The path along the shore and to the restarant and rental place is very smooth and will need a car for shopping etc. But make sure you have a GPS . take a cab from the airport. If you arrive at night.the street. Signs are not easy to see and it is very. Dark."
