  • Great again except for noise.

"Our 2d stay here for three weeks. Lovely condo, well maintained and stocked. Only drawback was construction noise on former lighthouse site adjacent to Makahuena. We will be back."

  • Awesome place

"This is an awesome place if you want to be by the ocean. Laying by the pool, you have a panoramic view of the ocean together with watching turtles playing and the spray hitting the rocks. It is incredibly beautiful. You have a perfect spot for an ocean side breakfast, lunch and dinner. The owners thought of everything you would need for a relaxing stay and put it in this beautiful place, including Tommy Bahama chairs, umbrella, beach towels, blenders, coffee makers, DVDs, etc. etc. etc. The only drawback was a queen size bed in the bedroom and a charcoal grill which was difficult when it was windy. It was hard not having a garbage disposal, but there were so many other plusses, that those were very minor. We loved it."

  • E & L from WA.

"We enjoyed 10 great days at the Makahuena. We saw spectacular sunrises, sunsets and the full moon setting in the early morning. It is an easy walk to either Poipu Beach or Shipwreck Beach. The condo is super comfortable. The bed and more importantly the pillows allowed for a restful night sleep. You can hear the waves crashing on the rocks ....It was heaven. We had a minor problem with the microwave that was taken care of promptly. We had a car so we had many highlights. The Wednesday Kauai Culinary Market, Friday Art Walk in Hanapepe with the Swinging Brigde, hiking in Wimea canyon, swimming in a pool at the base of a waterfall, Kilauea lighthouse, Skyline Eco Adventures, Smith Family Luau, Princeville, Kapaa, golf at Kukuiolono park (cheap and fun) and daily beach time for "hot sand therapy". I would not hesitate to book the same property in the future!"

  • Great condo.

"This condo was very clean and updated. A nice surprise was the beach chairs in the closet. The full kitchen and nearby bbq were handy. Rick is a great person to work with- very helpful and responded to emails quickly. He is a very good host. Good beaches within walking distance. Great walking path beside beach. A lot of the excursions work in the Poipu area so the location is great. Definitely would stay at his place again."
