  • Well maintained property with lots of thoughtful consideration

"After having a less than satisfactory experience on the north end of the island it was a treat to arrive in Kekaha to this beach bungalow. The owners thought of everything that would make our stay more fun and comfortable and we relaxed and enjoyed ourselves here. The laundry facilites were excellent and the home was clean and well appointed. Lots of towels and extra bedding were provided, many condiments available in the cupboards and fridge, cool bikes and beach gear in the outdoor "shack", and there was even a first aid kit which was handy when coral got kicked and sunburn happened. Having one bathroom can be a challenge, but the outdoor shower more than made up for this. We would be delighted to return to this location on our next trip to Kuaui. Would have got 5 stars if a second bathroom was here"

  • Great Family Get Away!

"We greatly enjoyed our get away to Shaka Hale. The home is beautiful and was spacious for our family of 7. The Lanai's were wonderful to catch a morning breeze and listen to the surf - of course with a cup of Hawaiian coffee. We enjoyed this laid back side of the island - with lots of sun and great sunsets. The kitchen had every piece of equipment we could have needed. We also appreciated the variety of beach supplies (chairs, mats, toys for our toddler) that were available in the garage. There are several beautiful beaches in close proximity - including a short walk across the street! We kept the house open during the day when we were around. We closed it up at night and utilized the air conditioning. This kept things quiet and cool for sleeping. There is road noise that affected our sleep the first night when we tried to keep the house open. The traffic didn't bother us at all during the day. Chad was very accommodating and timely in responses to any questions we had - including providing a "pack and play" for our 18 month old. I would recommend Shaka Hale to any group traveling to Kauai! You will love it!"

  • A week in Paradise

"A lovely well-maintained unit with delightful decorating - so peaceful to sit on the ground level lanai - people passing by, clouds coloured by the sunset and finally, the tranquility of the lights that shine along the path and under the palm trees. Well maintained landscape, beautiful ginger and blooming bushes, access to clean swimming pool - the little flies were bothersome one day as we sat by the pool. The live entertainment at Kalapaki Joes (across the green) was just the right volume as we sat on the lanai. Appreciated the laundry soap, shampoo, dishwasher detergent and all the extra spices. So glad we could enjoy this unit. Thank you!"

  • Great west side private beach cottage!

"We loved this cottage! Great layout for a family of four. Unice updates while keeping original old-school charm. Beds were very comfortable. Amazingly private beach access, although not a swimmable beach. Hanapepe & Waimea were fun towns to grab fish tacos and shave ice. We hope to come back someday! Mahalo!!"
