  • Felt like home!

"We wanted to stay on the west side of Kauai close by my family residences in Waimea and PMRF for a family reunion and ash scattering of my late grandmother. This place was perfect for my girlfriend and I! Mindy and Dave were excellent hosts and showed us aloha from the moment we arrived. This upstairs apartment is surprisingly spacious with a good size deck perfect for lounging under the shade of an umbrella, and the trade winds and ceiling fans keep the rooms cool when it's blazing hot outside. The apartment came with everything you'll need for a day at the beach including coolers, umbrellas, chairs, beach towels and snorkel gear. The layout was perfect for the 2 of us with a comfortable living space- couch, coffee table, tv, a full kitchen- full size fridge, oven stovetop, microwave, sink and dishes, a whole bathroom/shower and comfy bedroom with plenty dresser and closet room. All the appliances worked adequately and the decor made it feel like home. We were even surprised with receiving Mindy's baked goods, the coffee cake was so Ono! Mahalo Mindy and Dave for providing the best living experience possible! We hope to be able to return some day again!"

  • Lovely, well maintained getaway

"Rented this based on the reviews and we were not disappointed! It's a clean, lovely retreat, well-stocked home and we loved the outdoor shower as well as stargazing off the porch at night. Bedrooms are big and there is plenty of room throughout. It is hot in August of course, but with the fans and the breeze, the house cools down finally quickly and it was pleasant. It does mean that cooking in the kitchen is not that desirable, as it generates extra heat in the house. Only detractor was that a couple of nights the neighbors (residents) had very loud TV programs on, but so it goes...overall, we would definitely recommend this rental. This was our first time to Kauai and Kekaha so a couple of things may be useful if you're considering this location. Kekaha has easy, wonderful access to Waimea Canyon so this is a great location if you plan spend multiple days hiking. The beach across the street is a terrific place to watch a sunset; however the surf is rough and there is absolutely no shade and it is mostly rocky. So it's not for swimming and it's not the type of beach where you just sit and read. It's right on the road and there is no shade cover. You can drive about 20 min to Salt Pond Beach for a swimming beach which is great for kids."

  • Fabulous vacation home!

"Me, my Mother & Granddaughter take a "Girls Trip" every year and we selected this home on Kauai. Great choice...we would recommend this home to anyone that wants to relax in a peaceful home away with easy access to a beautiful beach, the Big Save Market grocery store, Waimea Canyon and great local places to eat. We traveled from this West coast location all the way around to the farthest Northern point in Hanalei during our 9 day stay. The home is equipped with anything and everything you might want or need. You will even find maps, sites to see, lists of restaurants and best beaches, which the beach across the street is truly the best and most private away from tourist crowd. Thank you Chad and Sarah! We'll be back with more family and are recommending to friends. 😎👍🏻❤️❤️❤️"

  • Perfect family vacation on Kauai

"We just arrived home from staying in this lovely rental for two weeks with our daughter, son-in-law, and two young grandsons. The location was absolutely perfect for attending our family reunion held nearby, and for enjoying the July 4th celebration with fireworks in the park. The hands down favorite feature of the house is the second floor lanai. Waking up to the sound of waves, enjoying coffee and meals at the large table, waving to the passing boats and watching sunsets were our favorite activities. Second favorite feature are the spacious and fabulous bathrooms. Street noise from cars driving by wasn't an issue for us after the second day. With a million dollar view, who even notices the cars? The location is very close to Port Allen for dinner and snorkeling cruises, Salt Pond Park, and it's a quick 3 miles to Waimea for JoJo's Shave Ice, Ishihara's, Big Save, and more. We highly recommend trying Lappert's ice cream a few miles away in Hanapepe where all the art galleries are located. Having a washer and dryer was great and enabled us to pack lighter. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed when we decided to eat in. Tip: there's a small local market across the parking lot from the post office on Kekaha Road that has the best poke on the island. We met several neighbors who were super friendly. There are a few minor maintenance issues that need attention and the beds could do with new pillows, but overall this is a fantastic vacation rental."
