  • Kekaha a Happy Surprise

"We had not had an extended vacation (longer than a week) since our honeymoon 33 years ago so we decided to splurge and stay for a month. This home was a home away from home. At the end of our time there, I had to remember that I really did like our home in Texas and it was ok to leave (albeit, reluctantly). We chose this home because it afforded us the flexibility we needed to have our family come in shifts. There is a beautiful lawn looking out onto the ocean, a beach and the ocean right through the gate, a well decorated guest house next door for overflow guests, and the house itself is roomy and magnificent. All 3 of the bedrooms have a wonderful view, so when we shifted from the master bedroom so our grand babies could sleep next to their parent in the adjacent study, we did not feel slighted in the least. The sounds of the ocean were mesmerizing. It seemed our every need was anticipated. Michelle, the owner patiently answered my many questions and has thoughtfully placed things throughout the home to make it feel just like a home and not merely a tourist crash pad. Neil, the caretaker is gem and a fount of information. He greeted all of our many family members with the same kindness and made us feel truly welcome. We had never been to this part of the island before and heard that it was warmer than the rest of the island but all of us fell in love with Waimea. One of the reasons that we booked this house was because it has air conditioning, which we did need. But the heat was minimal and because of the dryness, we were able to spend more time out side enjoying the sun. Because the skies were clearer the night sky was spectacular. Neil suggested a 'star party' where telescopes were brought in and we were taught a slight astronomy lesson. That is still one of the things our kids talk about. I could go on and on about the fresh poke and shave ice that we ate almost daily at the market in town and we have tried in vain to duplicate here or too many to mention wonderful things about the area, but it would take too long. My mother was hesitant to make the trip to Hawaii and her response when we had to leave pretty much summed up what the rest of us felt. We wanted to go back even before we left the edge of Waimea. Thank you, Michelle and Neil We can't wait to go back."

  • Fabulous vacation home!

"Me, my Mother & Granddaughter take a "Girls Trip" every year and we selected this home on Kauai. Great choice...we would recommend this home to anyone that wants to relax in a peaceful home away with easy access to a beautiful beach, the Big Save Market grocery store, Waimea Canyon and great local places to eat. We traveled from this West coast location all the way around to the farthest Northern point in Hanalei during our 9 day stay. The home is equipped with anything and everything you might want or need. You will even find maps, sites to see, lists of restaurants and best beaches, which the beach across the street is truly the best and most private away from tourist crowd. Thank you Chad and Sarah! We'll be back with more family and are recommending to friends. 😎👍🏻❤️❤️❤️"

  • Relaxation at it's finest

"The Blue Lotus was as advertised and we enjoyed a wonderful week. After staying here for the first week, than going to Princeville, we wished we would have stayed the whole 2 weeks right here. The house was spotless and had everything you could think of. Loved the outdoor shower and the clothes line to hang your suits. Walking across the smooth grass to the beach for a beautiful sunset and a cold beverage was a perfect way to end the day. One day we were just sitting on the comfortable front chairs, enjoying a great breeze when a gentleman came by on a horse, he stopped and talked for a while just making sure everything was good, just being friendly, and that the way this side of the Island is. Loved every moment of our stay."

  • A lovely base for exploring Kauai

"This home was really perfect as well as the location very close to Waimea valley and Polihale. Furthermore, the Kekaha beach, with a lifeguard is within walking distance. 10 minutes drive and you can swim at the calmer Salt Pond Beach. The house is very welcoming with an airy atmospere and with the AC some hours before bedtime was enough to create a comfortable temperature for sleep with just the fans working slowly.. Every morning at dawn we walked and enjoyd the beautiful beach. Every evening we went down to the beach again to watch the stars and galaxies of the the Milky way. During the nights the sound of the surf beating the beach lulled us into calm sleep. Breakfasts and dinners prepared in the functinal and well equipped kitchen were enjoyed on the lanai with a great view of the ocean. The sunset from the lanai is worth some rush to be in time for. The house is very clean and no bugs within sight! Not even mosquitos on the lanai in the evenings. Scott is quick to answer questions and saved no efforts to make our stay a very pleasant one! Ask for the late check-out IF you have a late flight. The relaxed last day was worth it."
