"Love this place and we will 100% be booking again, any other place I book now will be a disappointment. Very clean, everything worked, 110% satisfied"

  • Lovely Studio - Great Location and View

"I'd like to start by talking about Gail, because she is fantastic to deal with from beginning to end. She is very organized and makes the whole process easy, and I say this as a first-time user of VRBO. Having told her that it was our anniversary trip, she also went out of her way to make it special, including a lovely basket of fruit, chocolates, and other snacks that awaited us with a nice card upon our arrival. In short, you are getting better and more personal attention than you would at more expensive hotels located literally next door. The unit itself was perfect, and it has a fantastic view of the famous Black Rock at Kaanapali Beach. I can't tell you how happy it will make you to wake up in the morning, open the blackout curtains, and gaze out at this view as you look forward to another great day on Maui. During the season, whale activity is easily visible from the balcony and the beach below. If you know Maui, you know Kaanapali and how beautiful the location it is, and how convenient to great shopping, history, and boating activities at Lahaina. During our visit, we used the condo as our home base for longer excursions to the road to Hana (sadly closed halfway through due to a rockslide on the day we chose) and Haleakala. These are easily done as day trips from Kaanapali, and you'll be back in time for a great dinner in West Maui - cook at home in the well-appointed kitchen or visit some of the tasty area restaurants. The beach is easily accessible from the unit, and there are amenities including towel service and beach chairs. Snorkeling equipment and paddleboards are available for rental right in front of the Whaler. Snorkeling is some of the best on the island around Black Rock. It's fun to watch the cliff divers, too. I would recommend this unit to any single person or group of 2 for a wonderful Kaanapali experience and a perfect launching pad for excursions to other parts of the island. My wife and I hope to return again one day. P.S. For those who may be leery of a Murphy bed - don't be. It was more comfortable than our bed at home and I believe bigger than queen size. At least it felt like it."

  • One of the Best Locations for Maui

"A great condo in Lahaina, which is our favorite location in Maui. The condo opens right to the ocean. The beach is surprisingly long. About a half mile long I would guess. Makes for a good stroll. The sand is nice with some rocks that tend to line up along the tide line. The waters are shallow and calm; you will want to wear the water shoes provided. Kitchen is new and bed comfortable. Sofa large and comfy. The unit is well supplied with all the stuff you and your family will need including cookware, beach gear, snorkel, water shoes, coolers, floaters, pillows, blankets, towels. While not the best snorkeling, you can see a few cool fish and turtles right out front of the resort. There is a nice restaurant and bar next door. It's short walk to the harbor and downtown for activites and more restaurants and bars. It's a five minute drive to Kaanapali beach. The owners will make sure you are happy with your stay. My only recommendation was to upgrade AV system and a small blue tooth speaker. Such small complaints! Your not coming to Hawaii to watch TV anyway. In terms of the resort property, it is gated and we felt secure. The lobby staff are nice, but don't expect much since this is a self managed condo unit. The pool is smallish, like a three star hotel. Jacuzzi again similar, and could use some work; only 2 or 3 jets were working. Finally, on the ground floor the resort lanais are lit all night. I understand their reasoning from a security and safety perspective, but it takes a bit away from the ambiance. Anyway, few steps out your door and you get a good view of the night sky and a few more steps and you step out the gate to the sand for a great night sky view and evening stroll. There is a nightly ocean side luau performance next door. If you are planning a quiet read on the lanai every evening around dinner time, this may not be the place. When we were there during the show, we kind of enjoyed the music, singing and drums - or just closed the door. When we make another trip to Maui, I will definitely check to see if I can get this unit. One of my favorite vacation places."

  • Perfect Vacation Home

"This is the second time I've stayed at one of Brian's rental properties. The condo is beautiful and the location is perfect for what we needed. The views of sunset are spectacular from the patio and we were just steps from the beach. Brian is thoughtful and provides all the amenities you could want. He is also very responsive if you have questions or need something."
