  • Best Location in Kihei!

"Hale Pau Hana offers the best beach location in Kihei. Step outside your condo and Kam II is right there offering a beautiful beach with a calm side and some waves at the other end. If you are wanting a bit more surf for that boogie board you can make the quick walk along the beach down to Kam III. August is very responsive and easy to work with. The apartment is well stocked with cookware and spices. We did find the refrigerator completely empty upon arrival which I'm sure many prefer (very clean). Just note if you are expecting a bit of mustard, mayo or ketchup make sure you pick up everything you will need before arrival. The condo did supply dish soap, dishwasher detergent, paper towels and, trash bags. Ice maker came in handy as well. The AC in the bedroom worked well. Be advised that the temperature of the condo in the day will vary greatly depending upon the breeze and outside temperature. Only one day was so hot we didn't want to be in the condo. Of course it's Maui so who wants to spend much of the day in the condo! Wifi worked well and as many mentioned, worked on the lanai as well. Master bath was a bit small but since they were only two of us, one of us used the other bathroom. Appreciated all the hangers and nice drawer options in the Master bedroom. As some have mentioned, the floors are a bit hard and we also found them to be dirty so bring a pair of flip flops to wear in the condo. I'm sure some of the dirt was due to soot from the burning cane fields. Though they burn the fields way across the island, I suspect with windows most of the day, it's tough to keep the floors clean. Would be nice to have a little more comfortable lanai furniture since that is where just about everyone wants to spend their time. Of course, they may be limited with what furniture can withstand the sea breezes and rain. Overall, we loved the location and would hope to stay at Hale Pau Hana if we make it back to Maui. PS - Snorkel Tour with Aloha Kayak Maui was great and request Jamey if he's available."

  • Great location!

"We are a family of 5 and this was our first time staying here. We stayed here for 9 nights and definitely recommend staying here for several reasons; Price was great, amenities were good, pool was great. We stayed on the 3rd floor so we would have an ocean view and even tho the room didn't have A/C we were comfortable the entire time as their was a very nice breeze. Staying here puts you in the middle of the island which gave us a significant advantage to travel the entire island and yet be centrally located. The has shops and restaurants across the street and other beaches, shops, restaurants, activities are only a couple minutes away. The snorkeling was great right off the beach and rocks in front of the condo. There are several turtles that frequent the area and we saw them every time we went out. DEFINITE PLUS. The kids loved the location and the pool was in great condition and a nice way to top off the evening before settling in. The management was great with all of our requests and didn't have any issues with checking in or at any time during our stay. OH, and the beds were SUPER COMFY. This is a must for me as I am a very light sleeper and we all LOVED the beds!!!"

  • Maui Vista Paradise

"We spent just over a month at Maui Vista in Kihei and it was absolutely just perfect for us. One bedroom place, nicely furnished, practical in every way, north exposure (so always cool), 3 minute walk to Charlie Young beach (Kamaole 1), walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, groceries, EVERYTHING! Quiet, clean, property very well maintained and managed, safe (excellent security), just perfect!"

  • Perfect Honeymoon Stay!

"This condo couldn't have been more perfect for my husband and I to rent for our Honeymoon! Having the beach and so many restaurants so close we could walk, was perfect! We would come back to Maui and this rental property in a heartbeat! When my husband and I entered the condo, we were greeted with a bottle of wine and chocolate covered macadamia nuts! Right away we were impressed! Since we were in Maui, I was expecting there to be sand lingering on the floor from previous guests, but the entire condo was so clean and tidy we were able to relax and unwind instantly. Because the kitchen was fully functional and had almost every appliance we could think of, we were able to cook breakfast and lunch in the condo almost every day (which definitely helped us stick to our budget)! Dave called us early on during our stay to make sure everything was going well and to see if we had any questions about the condo and Maui in general - he made us feel like valued guests and very safe. He was also able to give us a few tips for things to do during our ten day stay. One thing my husband really enjoyed about this rental property was that we didn't need to carry keys with us because the door had a keypad (unless we were going down to the complex's pool area - then we needed the condo key). Not having to worry about who remembered to grab the keys before we would leave for the day was a great feeling. The entire complex was beautiful. The pool/hot tub area was very clean and was the perfect place to retreat too when it was too windy to be at the beach. A few things we did during our ten days that we would recommend are: the Maui Ocean Center (aquarium), visiting Lahaina for the day & attending Warren & Annabelle's Comedy Magic Dinner Show in the evening, the Feast and Lele Luau in Lahaina, the Road to Hana (Valley Isle Excursions - bus tour), Haleakala Sunrise Bike n' Zip tour (http://www.zipline.com/haleakala), and visiting various beaches (Big Beach is beautiful!). We didn't scuba or snorkel, but we had sea turtles swim right next to us at the beach by the complex. It was amazing! A couple great restaurants near the condo complex are: Cafe O'Lei, 808 Bistro & Fred's Mexican Cafe. Cafe @ La Plage a few steps away from the complex and is a great little cafe with wonderful coffees, sandwiches and smoothies, and Maui Gelato (a few steps further) has amazing gelato! We hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did! -The Blackwelders"
