  • Excellent Value, Great Location, Decent Amenities

"I reread the amenities for this unit and it mentions a DVD player and a CD player. The CD player was present but not the DVD player. It wasn't a big deal to me since I didn't have any videos to watch. There are some minor reasons for why I gave a 4-star rating rather than 5-stars: a) I was greeted with a bathroom floor that was flooded due to the tenants in the upstairs units having used high-sudsing detergent for their laundry. Apparently, the drainage pipes are all shared and the ground floor unit reaps the result. While the water was clean, I was unhappy having to mop up the floor for half an hour before actually settling into my vacation. Matthew, the owner, contacted the Home Owners Association to remind the upstairs tenants to be mindful of their laundry. There was no more flooding for the rest of my short stay, but I was always apprehensive stepping into the bathroom; b) I thought it ironic that a microwave oven was available for use but all the dinnerware was made of melamine, which is a material that is NOT microwave safe; but there are a few bowls and pyrex dishes in the cupboards under the microwave that are safe to use in the microwave oven. I ended up buying some paper plates. Otherwise, the rental unit was exactly as described. With that disclosure out of the way, I can definitely say that I enjoyed my time in that unit and that I wished I could've enjoyed it for longer. While the patio is situated within yards/meters away from the roadway, traffic noise was hardly noticeable with the patio door closed. And although there is a walkway that passes along the patio to the pool and to the road, pedestrian traffic was minimal. The condo's location couldn't be more convenient to the beaches and shops/restaurants. I didn't need to bring along any valuables, car keys or even the key to the unit when going to the beach. Oh, the key to the unit also has a Maika'i Card that is used for some savings at the nearby Foodland grocery store. The BBQ grills, tennis court, and pool were steps away from the unit. There was always ample parking near the unit at all times. The cost of the rental was an excellent value, setting up payments and the rental agreement with Matthew was easy, and he was available to help deal with the flooding issue. All in all I had a great time here and would not hesitate returning."

  • Great location and excellent host!

"We're a family of three and we chose this condo primarily on the price, location and last minute availability for the season (late Aug). Jeremy was very quick to respond and very helpful, pro-active and friendly, helping us with tips for figuring out island logistics, food shopping and so on. The condo was great for our needs. A short walk to the beach (1 minute) and convenient for everything. We''ve grown very fond of Kam 2 beach over all the others. :-) The Kihei Kai Nani complex (or whatever you call it) was helpful (main office) and their pool was a real plus for our son, who learned to get comfortable there and had way more fun in the ocean as a result. The pool was never crowded and everyone friendly. The unit was in great shape, good amenities for the price, and a comfortable bed. No view of the ocean, but with it so close by, it doesn't really matter. There were lots of summer reading books, board games for our little guy, and an acoustic guitar, which was a really nice surprise. With both doors open in the late afternoon or evening, a nice cool breeze kept us comfortable. We rarely used the air con. If you're looking for food shopping within walking distance, we'd recommend the organic food store, which actually had pretty reasonable prices called Half Moon or something like that, on South Kihei Road, just a block or two up. Best food of the trip within walking distance was Cafe O Lei for dinner. Worst was Bistro 808 for breakfast, give that a pass. The beaches are beautiful and an early morning trip before the wind picks up is key. We saw lots of turtles in the water right from shore, and this beach seemed fairly tame for the season (Aug/Sept) for swimming as we did laps of it in the morning and even in the late afternoon. We'll definitely book again! Thanks very much for welcoming us into your condo, Jeremy. Mahalo."

  • Hard to believe It's Real

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Best money we've spent on a VRBO rental ever, hands down! The positive reviews were completely accurate. The rental is beautiful, clean and has everything you need. The location is perfect perched between two beaches, one of which has surf lessons the other with family friendly waves and a large swath of sand for relaxing . Restaurants, shops and a grocery store are within walking distance. Kathy was wonderful and responsive. The grounds were private, groomed and full of lovely tropical plants. The most spectacular aspect of the condo was the view out the back and side windows. From every vantage point was unobstructed ocean, sky and beach in all it's Hawaiian glory. Favorite take-away memory is snorkeling and swimming near the sea turtles off the reefs in front of the condo. Maui really is paradise. Thanks for a great vacation!"
