  • Awesome condo!

"We LOVED staying here and we will definitely be back! We recommend it very highly. We are a family of four with two young children and the condo was perfect for us. It is extremely well outfitted (with everything from a truly fully equipped kitchen, well stocked linens, good a/c, and even an abundance of beach toys, chairs and umbrellas), tastefully decorated with a great view from its two balconies, and in an awesome location close to several beaches, restaurants, stores, etc etc - and the main roads for getting around Maui are nearby. It was also quite quiet. We actually can't think of anything we'd change! Booking and correspondence with the owners was easy, completely hassle-free and overall very pleasant. Thank you Jen and Dave for all the effort and attention you put into this condo and the experience of renting it."

  • Rough start but no complaints

"The most important information you need to know is that the owner is very good to work with. There were some issues we found on arrival and they were dealt with immediately and we were grateful. We spoke with the owner who lives on the mainland. He relies on his contacts in Maui, and that can cause some issues for him at times. He does his best tho, and we were satisfied in the end. This resort is one of the oldest in Kihei and it can show it in the units. This unit has no direct view of the water, but a sideways look off the lanai gives you a nice glance. The water sounds and breeze at night are perfect, and no one has direct view into this unit for nice privacy. The stairs right outside the door are so convenient, but the elevator is not a far walk either. Having a washer and dryer in the unit is helpful. Beach towels, linens, a full (but small) kitchen make living easy. We also used the boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella. While the unit is small (850 sf) it is laid out well and having windows on 3 sides make for a comfortable stay. There is no A/C but none is needed with the ceiling fans running. A TV in each bedroom and the living room let everyone have what they want. The location is so convenient, and while you will hear traffic and people throughout the day, the noise is gone by 10:00pm and only the birds will wake you in the morning. Parking is easy, the location perfect for every direction and the access to the water and snorkeling right outside your door. Grab a glass of wine, and pull up a lawn chair to watch the turtles feed every late afternoon while the sunset relaxes you completely. We enjoyed our first stay in Kihei, and are grateful for the easy communication with the owner. But, remember this is not a hotel. You will not get cleaning service during your stay, and the main office is closed after 4:00 pm and all weekend. If you need help you must contact the emergency number, which didn't initially answer when we called. You will get only basic paper goods, but once you run out you buy your own. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner/soap because you only get one tiny bottle of each. One use and you need to get your own. This unit is not handicap (wheelchair) accessible due to at least 2 steps in any direction to the front door. But there is a lift in the pool and walkers and cane users are not going to have trouble. Thank you Dennis for your hospitality. We enjoyed our stay."

  • Perfect Rental

"I rented this unit for my parents (Seniors) during their recent visit and it met all of their expectations. The unit is exactly as depicted in the photos. It is quiet, it has a beautiful view of the property grounds & the ocean from the balcony. You will get a wonderful cross breeze thru the unit during the trade-winds. It has elevator access, a convenient rubbish chute, and is close to both pool & barbecue areas. The unit is located across the street from Kam II beach, a short walk to restaurants, shopping, general, & grocery stores. It's furnished with beach amenities (chairs, coolers, snorkel gear) for your use. This is truly a perfect rental for singles, couples, or a small family."

  • Home away from Home in Paradise! Great view at an amazing price.

"There were so many things to love about this delightful vacation condo at the Kihei Akahi! Communication with the owners was excellent. The photo of the view from the balcony is the real deal. We thoroughly enjoyed having our coffee out on the balcony each morning and discussing our plans for the day. Beautiful view of the ocean on one side and on clear days, a nice view upcountry on the other. A sweet little brown bird frequently visited to check out if we'd dropped any crumbs from our breakfast. Plumeria blossoms gently drifted down to the courtyard below in the light breeze. The proximity to the beach is one of the best features - it's less than 5 minutes until your toes hit the sand! We got up early each morning to enjoy a beach stroll and each evening we joined the people on Kam II for the nightly sunset countdown ritual. My husband went snorkeling on the point between Kam II & III and saw two turtles. You can tell that the owners have put a lot of thought into the needs of their guests. There are guidebooks for Maui and the guestbook is a treasure trove of useful tips from former guests. There is a good variety of kitchen utensils and the pantry cupboard has everything you need from a sewing kit to packing tape for those parcels to send home. The in-suite laundry facilities are very convenient. And the closet in the bedroom is chock full of beach equipment. We made good use of the snorkel gear, beach chairs, and the cooler. There were also boogie boards and sand castle-making toys for children. Some folks may find the kitchen cabinets a little dated and the carpet a little tired & worn but we were quite happy to forego the Better Homes & Gardens look in exchange for such an affordable price. The unit was clean. The decor had cute tropical touches and we felt very at home and comfortable. The condo is within easy walking distance of many shops and restaurants. I highly recommend the wonderful Hawaiian Moons Natural Foods store which is less than a 5 minute walk away. They stock many locally grown fruits & vegetables and their produce prices were better than the Foodland further up the road. We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at this unit in the Kihei Akahi and we'd definitely consider staying here again if we ever return to beautiful Maui."
