  • Great Bargain, comfy bed

"My husband and I got married and spent our honeymoon here. Our group rented 5 units, all through VRBO and stayed 8 nights. Every unit had the same basic setup, but varying states of remodel. Ours was somewhere in the middle, with newer granite countertops, tile bathroom, and somewhat worn baminate (bamboo laminate) flooring. Of the five units my group had, ours was the best price. Our king size bed was very comfortable. Our cooking items were in better condition and more selection than most, but we did not have plastic plates for the BBQ like the others had. All 5 units had woefully undersized air conditioners, but there was a nice evening breeze that usually cooled things off. Ours was one of the quietest units, as it is located in the back of the complex. The bottom floor unit was nice because you could park in front and not have to climb up stairs to get in. The pool, hot tub, and BBQ area were pleasant and meticulously maintained. We used the BBQ at least 4 nights since it was the only place large enough to accommodate our group. There are two large immaculate BBQ grills. Even when others were using them, there was still room for our group to cook and eat. The only downside was some jerk named Jerry (lives in unit 214) who thought the whole pool area belonged to him personally. He yelled at us for momentarily having a glass wine bottle in the BBQ area that someone had unknowingly brought as a wedding gift, and then spied on us the entire rest of the week. He even peeped over the fence once and took pictures of our (plastic) rum bottle on the picnic table. He also played loud music all day, bothering our friends who had rented #213. Mark, the real manager, was wonderful and got us a replacement laundry key right away after we notified our owners the one we had was broken. Kihei Bay Surf is a great place to stay, and this is definitely one of the more comfortable and better priced units. The owners are responsive, wifi and cable tv were great, sand chairs, umbrella, beach towels, boogie boards, a cooler, and some snorkel gear were provided. This will be my first choice next time I visit Maui."

  • Pleasant Holiday in Kihei

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our #123 Condo was a good pick for a couple (or even a 4-some) visit to Maui. Centrally located, Kihei was perfect for snorkelers wishing to try out the coastal spots. The property was well equipped, including a VitaMix, which is handy for seasonal fruits and great smoothies/cocktails. The closeby BBQ and pool were handy for recreation and grilling up those Maui grass-fed steaks! The property fell short in its filthy door curtain, whose top was ridiculously full of dust, dirt and debri. This oversight is inexcusable considering typical housekeeping. Also, Kihei Bay Surf treats its guests who smoke like leprous outcasts, making them go to two extreme corners of the property, next to the smelly garbage sanitainers. In an era where secondhand smoke is now conclusively shown by peer-reviewed long-term research to have NO effect on cardiovascular or lung disease, this condo property lives in the past and treats its residents and guests like dirt. (No, we are not smokers)"

  • a beautiful, comfortable condo

"This condo was so tastefully decorated. And so well furnished with many extras, including snorkel gear, boogie boards, binoculars, ice chest, and outdoor toys and games and an amazingly well supplied kitchen, with every cooking item you might need. And right across from a beautiful beach with a gentle surf, safe for small children. We saw turtles everyday, sunning themselves on the breakwater. We highly recommend this condo and are looking forward to returning sometime in the future."

  • Hawaii vacation

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The only issue I would have with the rental was the busy street outside the balcony. Pictures showed more of it overlooking the water when the view was actually blocked from the balcony."
