  • Great time at Nani Kai Hale

"We had an excellent vacation at Nani Kai Hale. This condo is clean and comfortable. One thing to note, as stated in the listing the lanai is not an ocean front but has a great ocean view with nice patio furniture. Highway 311 is to the east in the distance. You hear light traffic but we didn’t find it distracting at all. By no means is this a deal breaker. The fridge is a little smaller than a typical standard but we found it to have plenty of room for our food. Having a keyless entry is excellent. It was great that Michael set the code as my cell number. Everyone we came in contact with at the condo was very friendly. Most are residents and they have group events during the week such as coffee and donuts on Fridays. The grounds keeper is there every day tidying up in the morning. He was very friendly and the grounds were immaculate. The outdoor area is very comfortable and wasn’t crowded at all. The grills were excellent and it was great to have a refrigerator available. This is a great location on the north end of Kihei away from the busy commercial area. The beach is amazing not crowded and just as you would expect Sugar Beach to be. We will definitely stay at this complex again ideally in this unit."

  • Spectacular View, Great Accommodations, Good Value

"We stayed in this lovely Condo October 1-10, 2016. The view absolutely takes your breath away. It is on the 4th floor (accessed by elevator) and is in about the center of the complex, giving you the perfect panoramic view. It's like you have your own private palm tree....which sets the scene for some post card-like pictures of beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The lanai is a wonderful place to eat, hang out, or take a nap on the futon mats that are provided. Sleep out under the stars if you want....and listen to the ocean all night. One word of advice, if you're prone to getting mosquito-type bites, you might protect yourself with a little bug spray after sunset. I got quite a few bites, my husband didn't get any. So, there ya go.... The kitchen is fully equipped and all the beach & picnic items you'll want are provided as well (except for snorkeling gear). Bob was very responsive to our one tiny little maintenance issue, and it was fixed promptly. There is a book shelf with information about the island including "Maul Revealed" and a "tour" CD that can be played if you take the road to Hana. The BBQs down by the pool are very handy...we used them 3 times. There are more on the rooftop, although we did not use them. The stairs at the front of the property literally step down into the water, and with a few steps to the right you are on a small beach. There is a group that can take you out in the outrigger canoes every MWF at 7am, and only asks for a small donation to the Pacific Whale Foundation. But the best kept secret (and our favorite) is the "fish pond" as the locals call it. It is that area you see in the photographs that is a semi-circle of rip-rap rock. The "pond" is very shallow (between knees and waist) with a total sandy bottom. Take your snorkel gear out around the inner portion (and outer portion if you want) and you will likely see a number of turtles along the rocks (fish too). Be careful if you are walking around without the benefit of a mask, because you might step on them, as they look just like rocks when they are resting on the sandy floor. My husband and I went out twice, and saw several each time. We had a wonderful time. We were so sorry to leave, and will definitely be back!"
