"I stayed here with my husband and two small kids (ages 2 and 4). Ali'i resort was so friendly during the booking process on the phone and replied very quickly through email as well. I called them a few times before our visit to confirm some things and ask some questions and they were always very helpful and friendly. When we arrived and our wifi wasn't working, Ali'i sent someone to our unit that day to look and see if they can fix it. Also, on our last day, while I was putting dishes away, I broke 3 bowls! I felt horrible and called the management company to let them know and they were happy that we were honest and didn't charge us! I was so impressed by this.
As mentioned by pretty much every review, the location is fantastic! You are right on the beach. It's one thing to see the pictures online and another to be there. It's absolutely breathtaking! We loved how private and quiet the beach felt. It was ideal for us with the kids. The patio was very private and had such an incredible view of the beach. The only complaint about the patio is that we wish there were more chairs and that the ones they had were nicer and more comfy. For the beach, the unit includes three beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler which was helpful. We ended up going to the store when we got there to buy other supplies to help us with the kids, buckets and shovels and other beach toys. One thing my husband and I kept saying was how frustrating it was that there weren't any umbrellas for us to use. You're expected to either rent them or buy them. We just wish the unit came with one. We loved how central the resort was from other areas on the island, it made doing day trips a breeze.
We rented a crib from a baby rental company for our youngest. We gave the children the one bedroom and my husband and I slept on the sofa bed. Although the sound of crashing waves was the perfect white noise at night, the couch was very, very uncomfortable. It felt like springs were poking out at us and we both had bad neck and back pain by the end of our stay. If you don't want to wake up at 5am-ish, bring something to cover the window up with in the bedroom. The window was covered by a very flimsy and thin curtain that blocked out no sun and didn't close all the way. I noticed other units had nicer shutters or even blinds to help with this. It didn't matter for us though, we enjoyed being up before 6 with the kids watching the rowers in the early morning. Overall, great holiday!"
