"My 10 year old daughter and I stayed here in August 2006. The area is perfect. It's close to Wailea, but doesn't have the Wailea price tag. We walked down there in about 15 minutes. We loved the unit it had everything we needed including a wonderfully stocked kitchen with all necessary cooking utensils. We cooked all our breakfast and lunches at the condo. They had umbrellas and beach chairs and boogie boards and of course beachtowels, everything you need for the beach. The beds/linens were nice. The pictures are somewhat deceptive because the unit isn't on the ocean, in the end it didn't bother us because it was still only a 30 second walk to the ocean. This is my third time to Maui, the other two times I stayed in Kaanapali. This area is so much better! Wonderful beach, calmer ocean. While this is a review for 201. Any oddly numbered units face the italian restaurant next door, so you smell garlic in the evening. The restaurant is right on the ocean, so the units closer to the ocean will smell it more. Martha, the property manager was great. She organized a kayak/snorkeling trip for us and had great recommendations for dinner (5 palms next door-really good). I will be back."

  • Fantastic view in wonderful condo - perfect location!

"From the minute we entered Hale Hui Kai we were impressed! Very clean building & grounds, beautiful beach right in front. The staff very generously let us drop our food & luggage off in room before check-in which was much appreciated. Every night there's those amazing sunsets steps away & we saw lots with whales every day! The room has everything you need & very modern. Would definitely recommend unit 309 & would love to come stay here again!"

"Our second stay at this unit was, if anything, even better than the first. The location goes without saying, the BEST on Maui as the beach is spectacular and that's our favorite spot. Long walks, safe water sports, close to quality restaurants..what more do you need? This particular unit is just as advertised...clean, well managed and very comfortable. Frank answers queries promptly and efficiently which makes booking easily done. All said..Ahhhhhhh. One wonderful holiday."

  • 203 - A home away from home. A frequent Maui travellers take on HHK 203

"We have been coming to Maui at least annually for over a decade. This year we decided to try something a little south of where we usually go and stumbled upon HHK #203. Walking in the front door, you feel like walking into your own home. Every detail is thought of, every amenity provided for and flowers adorn the rooms. The beds are a dream and the layout is amazing. There is no AC in the main room, and a portable in the master. We didn’t find that to be an issue though because the plethora of ceiling fans kept the air moving. There are tons of towels and linens, as well as dishes and appliances. Everything and anything you would need, 203 has. The lanai sofa has tons of beach stuff under the cushions. Fun Fact: The unit has 28 light switches. It took us a while to figure out what went where, but it was nice having such control over lighting and fan control. The garden view is still breathtaking, and the sounds of the ocean can still be heard. The grounds are meticulously maintained and clean, with ample parking and great laundry facilities. The beach is literally steps away. The water and beach are very clean, and there is some amazing snorkel and turtle opportunities right there at the coral. The pool is small, but offers amazing sunset views. Parents with kids should know that the pool is very restrictive when it comes to kids splashing or playing with small toys. Seen but not heard when it comes to Children."
