  • Excellent Location in Maui Kamaole

"The location of this unit within the Maui Kamaole complex is excellent, close to the upper tropical landscaped pool and hot tub grotto, and steps away from three excellent Webber propane BBQs. The lower pool is also close but has no shade. Surprisingly, the pool and hot tub close at 9pm weekdays and 10pm Friday and Saturdays, strictly enforced. The unit faces SSW and catches the morning sun. The large lanai is bracketed with palms that provide a bit of mid-day shade with a semi-private lawn in front. A bougainvillea hedge and a ravine separate you from the next building about 100 feet away, and a peekaboo view of the ocean provides pleasant sunset views. However, it is a 10 minute downhill walk to the beach and about a 100 foot elevation gain coming back up. The grounds have a lush tropical feel, well manicured, so well in fact that most days there is some noise of hedge trimmers, lawn mowers or leaf blowers to deal with, usually starting around 8 am. The Unit itself was very clean, although if you are storing your luggage under the bed, I would dust first. Good supply of beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. The kitchen was well equipped though some small measuring cups and storage containers would be useful. We always bring a selection of baggies for such occasions. Not much of a sound system, but adequate, bring a cord with a standard 1/8 inch headphone plug to connect your own music device, no Bluetooth. WiFi was solid. The second bedroom is small, with limited storage, but our adult daughter and son-in-law said the bed was comfortable. Both bedrooms are equipped with mini-split Samsung A/C units and were very quiet. Unfortunately, the condenser unit is mounted outside right next to the bedroom window and cycles on and off depending on the load, about as loud as a quiet refrigerator. As long as we kept the window closed and our A/C unit on, we got used to it. The living room is equipped with your standard thru the wall A/C unit. We did not use it at all since you get such a refreshing breeze thru the condo by leaving the front door blocked open. However, our neighbors did use their A/C and it was so loud we did not enjoy sitting outside. Fortunately, they only stayed a few days. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to our friends."

  • Nice condo - poor communication

"The condo we stayed in (C210) was comfortable and quiet. We did not need much, but it looked like it had everything anyone could want. While close to the pool, noise was not a problem. Our issue is that they were working on the roof of this building and our assigned parking spot was not available our entire stay. They also started working on the roof above this unit the day we checked out. We had no access to the lanai and the noise was horrible. Fortunately, we left early, so not too much of a problem, but we should have been warned of this prior to making the reservation. If we had stayed until checkout, this would have been a three hour nightmare."
