  • Wonderful stay

"We stayed in this condo for 7 nights and our experience was amazing. Bev was extremely responsive, helpful, and accommodating. The condo is quiet despite being so close to the pool and main office. It is very well stocked, especially the kitchen and the outdoor gear. The location is great, being that it is at the very southern end of Kihei - accessible to the Kam beaches heading north, but also within walking distance (10 min) to the beautiful beaches closer to Wailea. Having a keyless entry was great, as was an assigned parking spot right in front of the unit. The condo is also a little closer to the main road than some of the other units further back, which means shorter walk to get to the beach or Kihei shops/restaurants. Pools are nice, clean, and never crowded. Having a washer/dryer in unit was great. We would love to stay here again if we are ever back on Maui!"

  • Kihei Surfside

"My wife and I enjoyed our honeymoon stay at Kihei Surfside so much, we returned 7 years later for another vacation. I'm wondering why we waited so long! I'll start with the only downside: there's no A/C in this building. On days when the winds are blowing in off the water, this isn't that much of a problem. But when the air is still and hot, opening windows/doors at opposite ends of the unit doesn't do much good, and one begins to baste in his/her own juices. Other than that, there is no downside. In our experience, Kihei tends to cool down at night enough to get a good night's rest, and if you're vacationing on Maui, what're you doing in your room during the day anyway - go sightsee, go lay on the beach, go diving, etc... ! Not to say that the rooms are anything but comfy and NICE. The ocean view smacks you in the face as soon as you open the door - which as far as I'm concerned is the #1 draw of the whole building. Units farther to the left (as you face the front of the building) are of course more desirable due to their proximity to the water. IF you can, go for lower numbered units on each floor (101, 201, 301 instead of 115, 215, 315) since you'll be closer to the water and the ocean will fill more of your view. That having been said, give me the ground floor unit farthest from the water, and I'd not complain, and you're an ungrateful slob that can't be satisfied if you'd complain. Both the units we've stayed in have been tastefully appointed - very stylish and inviting. Now that I've said all this, please disregard it: if Kihei Surfside gets too popular, there won't be any availability when we next want to stay there."

  • This condo has it all

"We stayed in this well-stocked condo in early April 2016. No need to bring or purchase an ice chest, beach towels, grass mats, umbrellas, kiddie sand toys or beach chairs; the condo had everything we, and some visiting family members with a young child needed. The condo is located in the quiet mountain side of the Kamaole Sands complex. There's a peek ocean view from the lanai in the front of the condo, but none of the busy Kihei Road traffic noise. The complex pool is very close, yet the noise from the pool is shielded by some very nice plantings. This is our third time in Kamaole Sands. We like the location of the property (sunny and low key Kihei) and it's gorgeous landscaping and family friendly pool and barbeque areas. Just about everything you might need is within walking distance, including some great beaches for those not comfortable swimming in large surf just across the street as well as some in nearby Wailea. If you should choose to go carless, there's a bus stop in front of the adjacent complex, with buses about every 30 minutes. The condo has an in-room air conditioner in the bedroom. This noisy unit did an adequate job of cooling the room down, but made it a challenge to sleep while it was running. Hence the 4 star rating."
