  • Quiet, peaceful and easy.

"We just returned from our Thanksgiving trip to Maui and our stay in this unit This unit is set on the 2nd floor at the back of the complex. When you're looking at maps online it doesn't serve it well because it was an easy, quick walk to Kam III beach. There is a sidewalk througout the property that allows you to walk the whole way and not be in the road. Being set back on the property you don't get the road noise as it is pretty constant traffic. Spending mornings on the lanai with our coffee, we could hear the ocean waves and there are peekaboo views of water. The unit has its own dedicated parking spot only a few steps down the walkway from the entrance. Again, no parking lot noise but easy access. There is a pool area with a fantastic sand bottom hot tub just at the base of this unit. The bedrooms of this condo are at the back of the unit so we were a bit concerned that there would be pool noise however the pool closes at 9 and the gates are locked so unless someone jumps the fence, there is no pool or hot tubbers being disruptive late in the evening. There are ample gas grilling areas around this unit and throughout the complex. We used the pool area for its proximity, the seating area for eating and visiting with neighbor travelers. Was quite nice. The grounds were the primary reason we chose this complex of all the others along this strip of road. So many of the others are drab, concrete buildings while this is LUSH and truly the Hawaiian experience with the flowers, fruit and native birds. The description of the unit and the supplied cooking, eating supplies and all the beach gear is accurate, understated and definitely reliable. And that master bed is more comfortable than my own at home! Unbelievable. This was my first VRBO experience so I was cautiously optimistic about the entire experience. Doug was very responsive to our questions and so generously gracious with our requests. I would not hesitate to work with him and stay here again!"

  • Great Condo

"We loved the condo and furnishings. Especially the dishes. We ate at the barbecue areas every evening and everyone admired our nice dishes. Could use some more silverware we kept running out of forks Too!!! much snacking. All in all a wonderful vacation and we would really like to visit your condo again. I sure liked being on the first floor."

  • Convenient, Quiet and well appointed

"A beautifully decorated Condo with great views of the ocean and sunsets. The top floor end unit provided quiet mornings of sipping coffee while the shoreline came alive. Multiple beaches were all within a short walking distance. Sand blankets, beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, cooler and snorkeling gear were all available for our use and made our vacation such a better value than provided by a hotel stay. I would recommend staying here on your next trip to Maui, we certainly will return."

  • Beautiful Resort and Condo

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Kamaole Sands Resort. The condo was very clean and modern with a really pretty tropical design. It was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Everything went as promised. The grounds/property was very beautiful and well-maintained. It is very conveniently located and was only a 5 minute walk to the beach. We would definitely stay here again. It was the perfect home away from home. The only critique I would have is that the condo could use some new beach chairs and a new beach umbrella. The beach chairs had seen better days as the straps were ripped with use and time in the sun. The same goes for the umbrella. I would also recommend to the owners that they get new ice cube trays (very minor but a necessity). Everything else was wonderful--quiet and peaceful. We would recommend dining at Monkypod Kitchen in Wailea--great drinks and food. We also enjoyed breakfast a couple of times at the Kihei Café. The fish tacos at Coconut's Fish Café lived up to their reputation. We also spent quite a bit of time in Lahaina. The drive to Lahaina was about 45 minutes. There we went to the Maui Ocean Center and took a submarine ride with Atlantis (which we would highly recommend). Another great dining experience was at Lahaina Grill. The food and drinks were fabulous. There just wasn't enough time to try all that was recommended or do all the things we would have liked, and take the time to enjoy the resort. One other thing, if you don't need or want a fancy car, we would recommend renting a car from Kihei Rent-a-Car. They mostly rent Nissan Sentras. They are inexpensive and have great customer service. They will pick you up at the airport and bring you to their site. It worked very well for us. I would say if you like to be in the thick of it, where all the activity takes place, stay closer to Lahaina. If you prefer a quieter, more peaceful environment, Kihei is perfect. Overall, it was a dream vacation. We will be back!"
