  • Beautiful condo, Excellent location!

"We recently stayed in this very nice condo right across the street from the beach! Great location in laid back Kihei. This is a nicely decorated condo with everything you could possibly need. Fully furnished kitchen. Closet full of beach accessories. There is a great TV with Netflix and a DVD player. We found a movie rental box at one of the local grocery stores. There are restaraunts, bars, shops and shave ice stands within walking distance. There is also a health food market right up the street. If you have a car, there are several close supermarkets. There is a nice BBQ area out front with several grills which we saw the staff cleaning frequently. We took the advice of the owner and stopped by Costco, which is right by the airport and loaded up the condo fridge saving us a lot of money over staying in a hotel room. This place worked out well for us. Swimming in the morning, relaxing on the lanai in the afternoon and watching the sun set over the beach right across the street. I highly recommend this unit for a relaxing holiday. We'll be back."

  • Great location

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We (multi-generational family) stayed here for a week and enjoyed ourselves. Having a pool was great for a quick dip, being able to walk right onto a beach (for walking more than swimming) was wonderful and being able to drive up to Lahaina, or down to the south of Maui without trouble ensures a great location. Wish there had been more dishes/silverware to use--we had to do a lot of washing since the dishes got used up before the dishwasher was full. Patti was fantastic, easy to contact and very helpful and friendly. Loved the keyless entry--made it so easy to come and go!"

  • What a Great Place to Stay in Maui

"Nice EZ walk to the beach PLUS lovely beach & sunset views from this unit! Nice local art in the unit. Love Kamaole Beach Area - we've been coming for nearly 30 yrs. 1st time in this Bldg. Thanks for the Boogie Boards and beach chairs too! Feels like home. Aloha! Mike & Linda"

  • A great place to escape winter

"We usually stay in Wailea, so this was our first time staying at Sugar Beach Resort and in Kihei in general. We appreciated the proximity to the airport, beach, highway...everything. And yet no noise to speak of, not even at night with the bedroom on the highway side. The pool & hot tub area closes at 9:30 pm, so no noise there either. The apartment itself is perfect for 2, lots of bedroom storage (tiny bathroom vanity though), the softest, most luxurious bathroom towels, and the most well-stocked kitchen we have ever rented (pantry, dishes, and small appliances). Nice and bright, and great views from the lanai. We watched whales during breakfast and saw sunsets as we sipped wine. The pool area, and the gardens, are nicely kept. Everything was very clean and well looked after. The shop downstairs by check-in can book luaus, submarine tours, massages...whatever you're wanting. The cons are few. The wind comes straight down the valley and It Is Intense. The beach is not good for snorkelling (we kept going back to our favourite Wailea beaches for that) or suntanning, however there are several chaises on the grassy area as well as poolside. The apartment only has plastic sand toys for children and a couple folding lawn chairs but no comfy beach chairs, umbrella, or boards. You can rent them by the day or week from the shop downstairs but when we did the math for how long we would be there it was cheaper to just go to Costco and buy them and take them home (which is what we did), as well as longer/more absobent beach towels. All in all, we have to say it's a great little place to skip out on shovelling snow for a couple weeks!"
