"Beautiful condo. Comfortable, spacious, quiet. Everything they say about this condo is TRUE. This made our vacation perfect. MAHALO!"

  • Perfect location

"So nice to sit on the lanai and look out at nothing but grass, palm trees, sand and waves. Watched the sunrise every morning while in my pjs drinking a cup of coffee. Saw a ton of turtles from the shore in front of the condo. Wished I had put on my snorkel gear and gone in for a loser look. Complex managers were really nice and welcoming and saw them every day riding up around the property. Pool was clean and warm. Loved the Hawaiian music CDs. Condo was a little under stocked; 2coffee filters, 2 rolls of TP and only enough dish soap for 2 loads for a week long stay for a family of 4."

  • Affordable and beautiful place!

"The booking and renting experience was easy - well-organized and no issues whatsoever. The pictures of the unit and location are accurate. The exception is that the map link on VRBO to show location of complex is not accurate. Pluses: Affordable - across the street beach side you can expect to double the price. Nice location - easy to hop over to Ulua Beach and do the ocean front 1 mile walk. Easy to jump on the Pilani Highway. Everything is only minutes away by car. View - very nice ocean view from the living room. Well-appointed kitchen. Minuses: A few ants - but hey it's the tropics. Put your stuff in the refrigerator and you're fine. 2nd bedroom gets pretty hot in the morning as the sun comes up - the AC not as strong in there. This is partially an Outrigger owned complex and private owned. The desk caters only to Outrigger people - so if you need something printed you need to go over to the Marriott business center for example. No reclining lounge chairs on the lanai."

  • An excellent end to our Hawaiin adventure

"After a week on Kauia at two high-end resorts, and a quick stop at a small B&B in Hana, we settled into this Kamaole Sands unit for 5 nights. It turned out great--the apartment had everything one could want, Roy and Audrey offered a lot of great advice, and the complex is very well-maintained. We appreciated the nice pool and hot tub options, even though the beach was a short walk/drive (we drove just because we tended to take too much junk but we could have walked) Kamaole 3 beach wasn't quite as calm as many said but it was winter and huge swells were hitting the rest of maui, so the small waves weren't too much trouble. But for very small kids, the pool or nearby beaches may be better choices. We grilled stakes one night on the available Weber BBQs, and had tons of restaurant options in driving or walking distance. The new maur brewing company taphouse was a 10 minute drive and our favorite--they usually have food trucks, plus 30+ beers! lots of folks were regulars at the Sands--many from Canada--and i can see why they return. It's not a fancy resort but a very good value in a nice, casual part of Maui."
