  • Perfect little hideaway

"Martha's condo was a perfect choice for our vacation. Located on the beautiful, resort-free side of the island, it was quiet with a lovely view and a big yard for my 8-yr-old son to play in. A gate leads to a path to the beach. It's close to the road to Hana and just up the road from down-town Paia where you will find lovely shops and delicious food. The condo had everything we needed and more including beach chairs and snorkels. Martha's housekeeper was available if we had any questions and the condo caretaker was on site each morning. Definitely splurge on a meal at Mama's Fish House - it's a very special place. Thank you Martha for sharing your lovely home!"

  • Perfect little bungalow - Amazing location!

"This property is SO amazing and the pictures don't do it justice! When we first arrived, we were blown away by how amazing the front lawn area is. It's right on the waters edge! The views are stunning and it's so comfortable and relaxing on those lounge chairs. Also a perfect spot to enjoy dinner or a cocktail and watch the sunset over West Maui! The house itself was perfect and had everything you needed. Comfortable bed, nice sheets, great pillows and fans and AC's in both the bedroom and the living area. The kitchen was stocked with everything you needed to cook a great meal, and they even filled the fruit bowl with some of the delicious fruit that they have growing around their property. The outdoor patio is perfect for eating and just relaxing, while taking in the amazing views, and it's also covered which is great if you want to hang outside while its raining! Other reviews have mentioned the noise of cars driving by (property is located right on a busy main road), but we didn't notice the noise even once. It's not loud enough to ever be a bother (my husband worked during the day and took a lot of phone calls inside and outside - never made a single comment about the noise from the traffic!), but if it does happen bother you, they kindly provide white noise machines. The location is central, away from the hustle and bustle of the south side (yet very easy to get to), and at the start of the drive to Hana. Paia has quite a few good restaurants, and Mana Foods (a small natural health foods store) has everything you need to make a delicious meal, stock up on beach snacks, or find amazing locally made food items. You're also very close to the airport! Valerie and Craig are so friendly, super accommodating and very understanding. The really make you feel comfortable and at home. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!!"

  • Quite Hide Away in Paia

"This was my forth trip to Maui, with the first three being in Kihei. Nice change, nice quite street with property on dead end of street at the end of the street. Small beach just steps away were we saw green sea turtles, natural break, keeps waves calm and great for young kids. Great little deli / store within a 5 min walk which has great coffee, sandwiches, beer, wine and more. We walked to Paia and local beaches and Mamas Fish House which was also nice. Paula and Cliff took good care of us."

  • Great place to stay!

"This listing was the perfect balance for us. We were looking for somewhere nice, yet affordable. This condo met both. We also needed a condo that had a balcony that faced the ocean, preferably close. The view from this condo is amazing. We loved it and spent much time just chilling. I didn't measure, but would guess that the water is less than 30 feet from the building. This condo is on the 3rd floor. The location is right by the harbor and the maui aquarium. It is nice in that respect, since it is central to everything. You could easily walk to either. There are some stores close by if you needed supplies. Beach bums restaurant is also within walking distance. We couldn't find any other restaurant close, besides the one at the aquarium. The pizza place was closed for remodeling. The one that used to be in the condo building and the Italian place seem to be closed for good. The condo itself is located on a dead end street, which is nice since the only traffic is others who are staying at one of the condos, or someone who is very lost. There was some construction on the entrance/parking to our condo, but it was never a problem. The condo has a covered parking garage and a specified parking spot. That part was nice. I appreciated not having to worry or fight for parking. Just make sure you don't back into the parking spot. We did and got a warning note on our car. I didn't understand that, but hey, whatever. There were shopping carts to help carry stuff up to the condo. We actually used them several times. We went shopping the second day, for groceries and such at Walmart. Plastic bags are banned on Maui, so you have to purchase reusable ones when shopping. They are only 50 cents, so no big deal. We left ours for others to use in one of the cupboards. The condo itself opens up to a long hallway with the bedroom on the left, then the bathroom, also on the left and then the kitchen and front room and then the balcony. There is air conditioning and it works pretty well, especially for the front room and kitchen. It seems to struggle to get the air flow to the bedroom. We were told that this year has been extra hot in Maui and that usually there are trade winds that keep everything cool. We agreed with the extra hot part and didn't experience the cool part. The condo was well stocked to get us started and we loved the pineapple and bread! Very appreciated! Mahalo."
