  • Magical, peaceful, beautiful place!

"We have stayed at the Aloha Cottage twice and would highly recommend it. The cottage is a unique, octagon-shaped building with a super comfortable bed (which matters to me because I have a really bad back). The whole place is very clean, well-organized, tranquil, and lovely. The hosts have thought of everything, with a stocked kitchen for cooking, a TV and DVD player, a washer and dryer, a BBQ, a sweet two-person shower, big closet, helpful guidebooks, and a great outdoor jacuzzi tub. Each time we thought of something we wanted or needed, voila, there it was: bug spray, a beach chair, a cooler, etc. I adore the overhead skylight. There is plenty of room for a couple, and a good amount of outdoor space with chairs and table if friends come over for dinner. So, it's got everything you need while on vacation. But beyond that, this place is special in a way that no check list of amenities will convey. The property is just stunning, and the outdoor patio is one of the most peaceful places I've ever been. Beautiful nature surrounds you with a great, positive energy when you are there. We love staying Upcountry, where the pace is slower, the crowds thinner, and it's just way less touristy. The Aloha Cottage is close to the charming downtown Makawao, full of cute local shops and boutiques, a beautiful forest for hiking, and an easy drive to Paia. We plan to stay there again on our next trip to Maui! It's also a great location if you want to do the Road to Hana, Seven Sacred Pools, and Haleakela. Things you should know: there is no A/C, but we kept windows open and it cooled down nicely at night. Prepare for mosquitos at night in the summer. It's up a flight of stairs to get to the cottage, so not accessible for people with mobility issues."

  • had everything we needed!

"The condo was clean and quiet. It had everything we needed in the unit. Mornings out back drinking coffee were great, and private. It is in a great, central location, easy walking distance to everything you could need. I would definitely stay there again."

  • Bright & cheery, super clean, great place

"This is the second time we have stayed here and you can see the real pride of ownership as they keep things updated. For example, since the last time we were there, the sofa cushions have been re-done and there is some new art on the walls. I'm a bit a of neat-freak and this place was spotless ( I even checked behind the sofa! ) Everything you need is in the apartment and everything else is outside the apartment. Lovely tropical gardens, two pools, a fantastic beach across the street. There is a great Thai restaurant in the Azakea mall called Nutcharees. Fried fish and mango salad is easily worth the drive The only downside is that the owners wouldn't let me move in permanently."

  • Great View

"I loved listening to the waves 1st thing in the morning and as I drifted off to sleep at night. You can't beat the view and the beach is my favorite for walks and convenience. The condo is smallish for 2 couples, but we made it work and were quite happy and comfortable. It would be a plus if the bathrooms could be updated a bit. Still, a really good place!"
