  • Wonderful retreat!

"Koali Ranch Cottage was exceptional! The studio is super cute! Big enough for me and my husband but small enough to be quaint. The lanai was wonderful and had a beautiful panoramic view of the farm and ocean. It was gorgeous! We were greeted by cows that were very quiet and surprisingly there was no smell! It's super quiet and peaceful. There is no ac so be prepared for it to be a little warm if the wind dies down. We went and bought a stand alone fan and that helped along with the ceiling fan. There is a tv but we never turned it on. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the cottage. We were greeted with a fresh baked banana bread and a couple other fruits which was a very nice touch from the hosts. The kitchen was well stocked! We loved it and would stay again! Highly recommend."

  • Haiku perfection

"Wonderful house, tastefully decorated, well appointed. The open windows to the back allowed us to hear the rain, and have a nice breeze. The couch and beds are comfortable, the TV is big, the internet is good. No complaints, very satisfied. Thanks!"

  • Secluded utopian paradise.

"We arrived on Maui in the early afternoon, and after a dreamt-about lunch at Paia Fish Market..we continued down Hana Highway in search of our home for the next ten days. Pulling off the main road, we were led down a meandering driveway, which built the anticipation as we found ourselves in a tunnel of dense foliage, and fern-covered walls on either side. Rounding the final turn we saw our grande abode! The home's driveway features one covered spot-which helps keep you dry while loading up for day-trips if its raining out, but has room for up to 4 cars if you have large group. The first thing you'll notice is the excellent wrap-around porch, which can be closed at the entrance to help keep young kiddos in if you've got them with you! We made time to sit outside and look out over the many well maintained gardens, perfectly curated by Susan over the years. The interior of the home in warm and grand, featuring some excellent architectural features, like reclaimed wood flooring and exposed beams running the length of the house. Chris is quite the craftsman, and his attention to detail can be seen throughout the home. The amenities were as promised, a large gas stove which we used often, and a washer and dryer. The kitchen is great to cook in, and there are plenty of utensils, pots and pans, bowls, plates etc... If you have the your shopping in town before heading to the house..but not too much bulk at Costco because the fridge is a little small...luckily there's another one in the garage! The propane grill outside was suitable for our needs, was clean, and the tank was full. There is a full shower/bathroom downstairs, with a half bath upstairs. The master bedroom-a charmer with double doors opening to a private deck, and excellent natural lighting-features a very comfortable bed and it's own private full bath. Water pressure throughout the house is great, and gets as hot as you need it. With the home being on Solar power, we found no issue with any feature, but we were conscious of our electricty usage throughout our stay. The only downside was cel. phone reception and wireless was spotty at best..but we saw it as an opportunity to disconnect, and enjoy the company we were with. Stores are not "right around the corner", but Haiku Market is just up the road, and has everything you'll need about 20 minutes away. Overall our stay was wonderfully memorable, and our hosts; gracious! Highly recommended for those looking to check in, to check out!"
