  • Main house was beautiful w/ stunning views!!

"We stayed in the main house and it was beautiful. Nice, upscale property that you can tell the owners take a lot of pride in! The best part is the screened in back lanai providing amazing views of the green jungle, fruit trees and the ocean in the distance. We slept on the daybed every night on the lanai and had 0 issues with bugs or mosquitos. Property is close to everything awesome in Hana! Also took advantage of the lava rock outdoor shower and beautiful, well maintained grounds."

  • Perfect for large groups

"13 people stayed and were extremely comfortable. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing time hanging around the pool. Location is great. Hiking, and multiple cool towns very close by. Would come back again!"

  • This beautiful cottage was magical - exquisite attention to detail, comfortable, beyond belief!

"The amazing cottage is just the beginning - wait until you tour the property! What a privilege to experience the splendour of waterfalls creating natural pools for swimming, a view of forever from the lanai, birdsong that fills the entire valley morning and evening, and the most amazing shower made of stone from the riverbed below! Sydney is a gracious and attentive hostess who has humbly done the work of restoring and improving this property so it can be honoured and enjoyed by many. I was sad to leave..."

  • Magical, peaceful, beautiful place!

"We have stayed at the Aloha Cottage twice and would highly recommend it. The cottage is a unique, octagon-shaped building with a super comfortable bed (which matters to me because I have a really bad back). The whole place is very clean, well-organized, tranquil, and lovely. The hosts have thought of everything, with a stocked kitchen for cooking, a TV and DVD player, a washer and dryer, a BBQ, a sweet two-person shower, big closet, helpful guidebooks, and a great outdoor jacuzzi tub. Each time we thought of something we wanted or needed, voila, there it was: bug spray, a beach chair, a cooler, etc. I adore the overhead skylight. There is plenty of room for a couple, and a good amount of outdoor space with chairs and table if friends come over for dinner. So, it's got everything you need while on vacation. But beyond that, this place is special in a way that no check list of amenities will convey. The property is just stunning, and the outdoor patio is one of the most peaceful places I've ever been. Beautiful nature surrounds you with a great, positive energy when you are there. We love staying Upcountry, where the pace is slower, the crowds thinner, and it's just way less touristy. The Aloha Cottage is close to the charming downtown Makawao, full of cute local shops and boutiques, a beautiful forest for hiking, and an easy drive to Paia. We plan to stay there again on our next trip to Maui! It's also a great location if you want to do the Road to Hana, Seven Sacred Pools, and Haleakela. Things you should know: there is no A/C, but we kept windows open and it cooled down nicely at night. Prepare for mosquitos at night in the summer. It's up a flight of stairs to get to the cottage, so not accessible for people with mobility issues."
