  • Been there...done that...and will do it again!

"We have stayed multiple times at this location. Every time we are not disappointed. The home is wonderfully decorated, and the property stunning. The owners welcoming and kind. The location is perfect for us, so close to Haiku and Paia and Hookipa and Baldwin beach. Just perfect! Would not hesitate to stay again and we have already booked our next stay!."

  • Lovely cottage with a beautiful view of the ocean

"If you are looking for “real Hawaii”, I would recommend staying at Maui by the Sea just down the road from Pa’ia town. Imagine eating your meals on the covered lanai and taking in the views of the ocean and the West Maui Mountains. You can watch the humpback whales spouting and breaching. In the late afternoon, walk to the neighborhood beach and see the Hawaiian Green Turtles resting on the sand. The one bedroom cottage is well equipped. It includes a roomy bathroom, a kitchen with everything a cook would need, and a washer / drier. The bed and furniture were very comfortable. The Wi Fi has a strong signal (that made my husband happy). The grounds are beautifully landscaped with native plants and fruit trees. The owners also grow herbs that added spice to our dinners. When we arrived, we were greeted by our hosts along with a bowl of delicious fruits. Valerie has a wealth of knowledge about Maui. Several weeks before we arrived, Valerie sent me an e-mail message listing sights to see, places to go, and restaurants to try. Valerie is a wonderful person, so do not feel shy about asking her questions about Maui. The cottage is conveniently located. We enjoyed the drive to Hana, toured the upcountry, visited the south Maui beaches, hiked the trail to Twin Falls, sat on Ho’okipa Beach watching the surfers, walked Ma’alaea beach, and drove up to the summit of Haleakala National Park to watch the sunrise. If you want to enjoy the experience, you need to make a reservation (see https://www.nps.gov/hale/planyourvisit/haleakala-sunrise-reservations.htm) and bring warm clothes. Valerie recommended Mana Foods in Pa’ia, and we absolutely loved the selection of natural / organic foods and beautifully grown produce. When we weren’t cooking in, we tried some excellent restaurants including Mama’s Fish House, Flat Bread Company, and Café Des Amis. It was a blessing to get to know Valerie. She made us feel at home during our stay at Maui by the Sea. Be sure to make your reservation at least six months in advance."
